According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), according to data from the International Trade Center (ITC), the US is Vietnam's largest pepper import market. In the first 5 months of 2025, the US imported about 23,348 tons of pepper from Vietnam, accounting for 64.4% of the country's total pepper imports. However, compared to the same period last year, the export volume to the US decreased by 17.8%.
Despite the decline in export volume, domestic pepper prices are still affected by export demand, especially when the US reduces imports from Vietnam but increases purchases from other markets. This situation causes domestic pepper prices to fluctuate slightly due to changes in international supply and demand.
