Look at the problem differently

HN account (443,000 followers and 3.1 million likes) has become a searched name and attracted the attention of social network users in recent days. Each livestream session of HN has more than 20,000 concurrent views and thousands of comments. What makes HN noticeable is that she does affiliate marketing, introducing products such as: fermented pork roll, sun protection masks, microphones, clothes, etc. But many young people watching the live, instead of commenting on the products, tease, even ask tricky questions like whether the goods are delivered to heaven or under the sea; or when HN introduces the spring rolls, the viewers close the order for... 2 bowls of porridge.

Responding to the three-part humorous and seven-part sarcastic comments, HN still gently answered each question, even making separate videos to answer viewers' questions enthusiastically. This behavior helped HN's account increase by more than 300,000 followers after less than 1 week of doing affiliate marketing, the number of customers closing orders increased from a few orders to nearly 200 orders per day.

HN's story is considered a breath of fresh air in a stormy livestream environment with accusations, insults, and even contempt. Despite the teasing of some viewers, HN's gentle attitude has attracted the attention of many young people, and even though he doesn't buy anything, he still gives gifts and commissions (convertible to money) during the live sessions.

Ms. Dang Thi Thuy Trang (24 years old, sales staff, living in Cho Lon ward, Ho Chi Minh City - a follower of the HN account) shared: “The first few days, she went live for 2 hours but no one closed any orders, just teasing, even rude comments, saying that she was pretending to be naive, calling on viewers to report the account. But she still maintained a gentle attitude, not arguing, which is very rare on social networks today. Now, even though there are more supporters, she still maintains a gentle attitude, thanking each customer who closes an order, whoever asks a riddle, teases, she also gently answers within her ability. I think this is also a positive perspective for me to learn from.”

Following the HN account from the beginning, Hoang Ngoc Khanh Vy (30 years old, media employee, living in An Nhon ward) expressed: “Of course, the comments teasing Ms. HN from a group of young people are offensive. But looking at it from another perspective, when an account is live with many views and comments, and at the same time there are no negative controversies, the platform's algorithm will give priority to that account. From there, the customer base with demand for the products that HN is affiliated with will also increase.”

Find optimism in life

For many young people of Gen Z, looking at things in a positive way and finding laughter in unfortunate situations is a common trend today.

Seven-Colored Rabbit, a famous comic character on social networks with more than 4.4 million followers, attracts the attention of many young people because this character is always satisfied and happy with everything in its own way, even if it is sometimes ridiculous, unreasonable or silly. It does not try to follow anyone else's standards, so it always maintains optimism and positivity.

As the creator of Tho Bay Mau, artist Huynh Thai Ngoc shared: “Through Tho Bay Mau, I want to describe a life where people are not concerned with form, conveying the message that people should always be positive and optimistic, less strict with each other, then everything will always be more colorful. I think that true happiness and peace do not come from big things, but lie in small, simple things every day such as: a hug, a cute saying, a funny joke or a carefree laugh. But the important thing is that happiness must be defined and chosen by yourself. If you let others impose standards of living or happiness on you, you will always feel pressured and disappointed, because it is very difficult to reach a model that does not belong to you.”

It is no coincidence that Seven-Colored Rabbit has been successful in building its image, and the cartoon about this character is even considered one of the Vietnamese cartoons on the internet that has attracted the most young audiences in recent times. The way this character overcomes negative problems in life, the way he finds joy in life... has brought positive perspectives to young people.

Huynh Thai Ngoc expressed: “I also had very sad days and learned to overcome everything by looking at it differently. That is also the message in the book that I want to send to young people, because every journey to adulthood has unhappy days, but above all, we should stay calm.”
