No obstacle can stop us from reaching peace, prosperity, and the longevity and development of our nation.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed: Under the glorious flag of the Party, with the light of Ho Chi Minh guiding the way, relying on the strength of the people and the great national unity bloc, there is no difficulty or challenge that our people cannot overcome; there is no noble goal that our nation cannot achieve. Therefore, there is no obstacle, no reason that can stop us from reaching peace, prosperity, and the eternal existence and development of our nation.

On the morning of September 2, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Hanoi City solemnly held the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Delivering a speech at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that 80 years ago, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, beloved President Ho Chi Minh solemnly read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the first People's Democratic state in Southeast Asia, opening an era of independence and freedom for the country.

From that historic moment, the Vietnamese people embarked on a new journey: Building a People's Government, protecting the Fatherland, and firmly moving the country towards Socialism, for the goal of "A rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization".

"In this sacred moment, we respectfully remember our ancestors, express our infinite gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh; pay tribute to our revolutionary predecessors, millions of compatriots and soldiers who sacrificed and devoted themselves to the independence, freedom, reunification of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people.

"We will forever remember the contributions of Vietnamese heroic mothers, war veterans, wounded and sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and people with revolutionary contributions; and engrave in our hearts the contributions of workers, farmers, businessmen, intellectuals, artists, the elderly, youth, women, children, people of all religions and ethnicities, our compatriots abroad, friends and progressive people around the world who have stood shoulder to shoulder, helped and supported the just revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese people over the past eighty years," General Secretary To Lam expressed.

The Vietnamese Fatherland is the crystallization of a thousand-year cultural tradition of building and defending the country; of steadfastness, intelligence, compassion and aspiration to rise up. That spirit has forged the great strength of the August Revolution; of two long resistance wars against colonialism and imperialism; of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in peace; of the cause of innovation, international integration and national development. That is the strength originating from the People, belonging to the People, for the People; the strength of the great national unity bloc under the glorious flag of the Communist Party of Vietnam founded, led and trained by President Ho Chi Minh.

We are proud to affirm that: All victories of the Vietnamese revolution are associated with the correct and wise leadership of the Party and the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh. Our Party, the vanguard of the working class, at the same time the vanguard of the working people and the Vietnamese nation, always adheres to the goal of national independence associated with socialism; creatively applies and develops Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's ideology in accordance with the country's reality in each period; puts the interests of the Fatherland and the People above all and first. Thanks to that, our nation has overcome countless difficulties and challenges; our country has transformed from a colony into an independent and unified nation, steadily advancing towards modernity and deep integration; its position and prestige are increasingly affirmed in the international arena.

General Secretary To Lam stated that the task of protecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland; maintaining security, order and social safety for rapid and sustainable national development; and constantly improving the people's lives and happiness are our imperatives.

Successfully achieving those three goals is to fulfill Uncle Ho's wish before he passed away: "My final wish is: Our entire Party and people unite to strive to build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam and make a worthy contribution to the world revolutionary cause."

Through the 80-year journey full of hardships but heroic, we have affirmed the truth: Under the glorious flag of the Party, with the light of Ho Chi Minh guiding the way, relying on the strength of the people and the great national unity, there is no difficulty or challenge that our people cannot overcome; there is no noble goal that our nation cannot achieve. Therefore, there is no obstacle, no reason that can stop us from reaching peace, prosperity, our nation's longevity and development.

Looking to the future, our Party sets the goal that by 2045, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country, Vietnam will be a powerful, prosperous and happy nation. That is the aspiration of the entire nation, an oath of honor before History and the People.

"I call on the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army, our compatriots at home and abroad, through concrete and practical actions, to unite, join hands, and be of one mind, to turn aspirations into reality; to make more efforts and be more determined; to promote the highest level of Vietnamese intelligence, creativity and mettle; to successfully carry out the goals and tasks set by the Party and State and expected by the People," General Secretary To Lam said, affirming: We are determined and persistent in protecting the independence, freedom, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and every inch of sacred land of the Fatherland with the combined strength of the entire nation: political, economic, cultural, scientific, technological, military, foreign affairs strength and the strength of the people. We want to be friends and trusted partners with all countries in the world. We respect international law and the United Nations Charter; and resolve disagreements and disputes by peaceful means. We absolutely will not compromise with any plots or actions that violate independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity; we are determined to firmly protect national and ethnic interests.

General Secretary To Lam expressed: In this sacred moment, each of us seems to hear the echoes of Uncle Ho's 1945 Declaration of Independence, to see millions of Vietnamese hearts beating with pride, to resound the oath "to die for the survival of the Fatherland". We understand more and more the value of "Independence", "Freedom", "Happiness"; we value and are more determined to cultivate peace; we are more deeply imbued with the sacred meaning of the words "My People", "My Fatherland".
