President Luong Cuong receives Chairman of the Belarusian House of Representatives

On the morning of September 1, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong received Chairman of the House of Deputies (Lower House) of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeenko and the Belarusian delegation to Vietnam to attend the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2 (1945 - 2025).

At the reception, President Luong Cuong welcomed the Belarusian House of Representatives delegation led by Chairman Igor Sergeenko to attend the ceremony; expressed his appreciation for the valuable assistance of the Soviet people, including the Belarusian people, to the Vietnamese people in the past struggle for national independence and reunification and in the present-day construction and development of the country.

President Luong Cuong affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always attach importance to the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Belarus; and wish to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas where Belarus has strengths and Vietnam has needs such as science and technology, industry and agriculture .

The President proposed that the Belarusian National Assembly support the promotion of increased contacts, exchanges and cooperation at high and all levels, especially on the parliamentary channel, to help create a favorable legal framework for effective and substantive implementation of agreements between the two countries' senior leaders.

On this occasion, President Luong Cuong respectfully invited the President of Belarus to pay a State visit to Vietnam in the coming time.

Expressing admiration and congratulating the remarkable development and great achievements in various fields that Vietnam has achieved under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeenko emphasized the great significance and importance of the 80th Anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2; affirming that with a long history of trustful and close relations, having gone through many challenges, Belarus always attaches importance to and wishes to strongly promote relations with Vietnam.

The Chairman of the Belarusian House of Representatives informed about cooperation projects between the two countries in the fields of trade, investment, industry, defense and security; expressed his joy and belief that the signing of the Visa Exemption Agreement between the two countries will open up great opportunities to promote bilateral cooperation, including cultural and tourism cooperation, with practical results.

On this occasion, Mr. Igor Sergeenko conveyed a letter from President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulating Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2.

Appreciating the positive developments in bilateral relations in recent times, especially the historic State visit to Belarus by General Secretary To Lam and the establishment of relations to the level of Strategic Partnership (May 2025), President Luong Cuong and Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeenko agreed that the two sides should soon agree on the Roadmap for Cooperation Development 2025-2027 to concretize cooperation agreements and create a basis for promoting bilateral cooperation in all fields, commensurate with the potential and strengths of each side; strengthen coordination at international and regional forums, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
