Domestic pepper prices continue to remain high, ranging from VND139,000 to VND141,000 per kilogram. This is a clear sign of a prolonged upward trend in recent weeks. The main reason is that domestic supply is increasingly scarce, while export demand remains stable.
The current pepper price is considered the highest in the past year. Experts say that this price comes from the fact that the harvest has ended in most of the main growing areas, causing a sharp decrease in supply. In addition, some farmers and traders continue to hold on to their goods waiting for prices to increase further, contributing to the reduction in the amount of goods circulating on the market.
In the short term, domestic pepper prices are forecast to remain stable or increase slightly, depending on developments in the export market and farmers' selling decisions. If supplies from Indonesia and Brazil continue to be limited, prices may be supported to increase further. However, if these countries sell simultaneously to lock in profits, domestic pepper prices may be under downward pressure.
Pepper price today 12.7 in world market

Import demand from international markets also plays an important role in keeping pepper prices high. Major markets such as the US, Europe, the Middle East and India have maintained stable demand.
Meanwhile, competing exporters such as Brazil and Indonesia are nearing the end of their harvests, which has somewhat eased global supply pressure.
In the international market, Vietnamese pepper prices did not fluctuate much compared to the previous trading session. Prices in other exporting countries such as Indonesia, Brazil and Malaysia also remained stable, showing that the market is in the accumulation phase and waiting for new signals from supply and demand.
