On December 10, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan, Head of Thanh Huong Commune Police (Thanh Chuong District, Nghe An ), said that the unit had just successfully propagandized and mobilized the elderly not to participate in experiential tours, to avoid the risk of being scammed into buying medicine and milk of unknown origin at high prices.
Previously, on December 9, through situation investigation, Thanh Huong Commune Police received information about a group of people from outside the area coming to meet with elderly people in the commune, inviting them to participate in a free tour program.

According to the advertisement, during this trip, in addition to having travel and food expenses "covered", the elderly will have "free blood tests", participate in discussions with nutrition experts, and receive a box of eye-brightening pills worth 350,000 VND.
"Through information on social networks and in other localities, authorities have determined that when participating in experiential tourism programs or free health check-ups, the elderly will be consulted by a group of people and invited to buy products such as bone and joint medicine, supplements, and powdered milk. These health care products are of unknown origin and are sold at high prices," Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan shared.
According to the schedule given by the above group, the elderly will be picked up by car, starting the trip at 5:00 a.m. on December 10.

To prevent the risk of the elderly being scammed into buying expensive medicines and functional foods, on the night of October 9, Thanh Huong Commune Police sent forces to each hamlet and each house to persuade and persuade the elderly not to participate in the free tour.
After being explained by the commune police and their children, many elderly people agreed not to participate in the experiential tour. However, at 4:30 a.m. on December 10, Thanh Huong Commune Police were on duty at the pick-up location and discovered that nearly 10 elderly people had been brought there by their families.
"We continue to propagate and encourage the elderly to return and avoid falling into scam traps. Among them, there is an elderly person who attended a free seminar and bought 2 boxes of medicine with foreign words for 1 million VND, but did not dare to use it," Lieutenant Colonel Tuan informed.
After being informed and explained by the police, and the shuttle bus not arriving as planned, the elderly all returned home.

Recently, in Nghe An province, there has been a situation where some groups of people from other provinces have come to each hamlet and commune to approach the elderly, inviting them to attend seminars and free tours.
However, at these seminars and tours, the elderly are persuaded to buy expensive health care products of unknown origin. These products are often exaggerated to have the effect of curing cardiovascular and bone and joint diseases.
Localities in the province have also issued documents to direct and propagate to prevent people, especially the elderly, from being lured and scammed into buying products of unknown origin, products with prices many times higher than the actual price.
However, in reality, health consulting and disguised sales groups still secretly go to each neighborhood to lure the elderly into participating in so-called free programs to sell high-priced products.
