Specifically, in the first 6 months of the year, the total import-export turnover through Thanh Thuy International Border Gate reached 312 million USD, an increase of 132% over the same period in 2024. The main export items were durian, coffee beans, antimony metal, and cassava starch; the main import items were electric energy, aluminum alloy, and fresh flowers.
In particular, in the past 2 months, durian exports through Thanh Thuy International Border Gate have increased sharply, reaching 158 million USD in the first 6 months of the year. Currently, on average, there are 40 to 50 container trucks exporting through the border gate every day.
The reason for the sharp increase in durian exports through the border gate is that Chinese authorities have shortened the time for testing yellow O and cadmium on durian, from 78 hours to 24 to 48 hours. Thereby, attracting businesses to export and import agricultural products to the Chinese market through Thanh Thuy International Border Gate.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh, Deputy Head of Thanh Thuy International Border Gate Customs, said: "The functional forces at the border gate, including the customs sector, have promoted administrative procedure reform, shortened the time for customs clearance of import and export goods, creating the most favorable conditions for businesses participating in import and export through the border gate."
Also in the first 6 months of the year, nearly 12,000 people completed immigration procedures; more than 84,000 people completed immigration procedures. The total tax revenue paid to the budget was more than 145 billion VND, an increase of about 25% over the same period and reaching 75% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance .
In order to further promote import and export activities through Thanh Thuy International Border Gate, in the coming time, the authorities need to advise Tuyen Quang province to continue to exchange and negotiate with the Chinese authorities, creating more favorable conditions for agricultural products imported into the Chinese market, including extending the customs clearance time through the border gate.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh, the functional agencies of Tuyen Quang province need to continue investing in improving facilities and infrastructure at the border gate. Previously, the province's import-export association was established, but this association is currently not operating effectively.
Therefore, in the coming time, the province needs to pay attention to maintaining the activities of the import-export association to act as a focal point for exchanging information with Chinese import-export enterprises so that domestic enterprises can grasp information promptly and proactively in import-export activities.
