Lang Son province currently has about 164,000 people working in the trade and service sector, of which 60% participate in e-commerce activities. Since 2021, relevant sectors and units have coordinated and implemented many solutions to develop human resources; support businesses and production establishments to access digital skills and apply digital transformation in business.

Every year, the Department of Industry and Trade of Lang Son province opens two to three training courses to improve knowledge and skills in applying e-commerce for about 100 officials in charge of state management and law enforcement on e-commerce and for about 200 enterprises, cooperatives, and production and business households across the province.

To help the management team and workers in the e-commerce sector have sufficient knowledge and skills to meet development needs, the Department of Industry and Trade proactively researches and reviews new and necessary content to supplement, update, and advise on organizing promptly and appropriate training programs. In addition to related knowledge, training courses also incorporate practical content, instructing businesses and cooperatives on setting up business accounts and livestreaming processes on e-commerce platforms.

With the characteristics of a border province, an important gateway for import and export of goods of Vietnam and ASEAN countries with China and vice versa, Lang Son province is always interested in solutions to promote cross-border e-commerce through improving the quality of human resources. In December 2024, the Workshop "Developing cross-border e-commerce: Acceleration and Breakthrough" organized by Lang Son province in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade recorded the active participation of experts and nearly 200 representatives of enterprises and cooperatives. Currently, with e-commerce platforms, national consumers can access Lang Son OCOP products such as custard apple, fish mint tea, persimmons, etc.

Ms. Vi Thi Lua, Director of the Lua Vy Fish Mint Tea Production Cooperative, said: "Through digital business platforms, the brand is closer to consumers nationwide. Lua Vy YouTube channel has 1,000 followers with many videos reaching nearly 100,000 views. Lua Vy Tiktok channel also has 26,400 followers,... Those impressive numbers bring in more than 40% of total revenue, helping the cooperative sign contracts with many distributors. The Lua Vy brand has a better position in the market.”

In recent times, the youth force of Lang Son province has always been the main force, accompanying businesses and agricultural cooperatives, supporting units and people to operate proficiently on e-commerce platforms. "The Youth Union has organized online livestream sessions, helping businesses and cooperatives promote and sell Lang Son agricultural products directly to consumers. Communication campaigns, promoting Lang Son agricultural product brands in the digital space with the core being young people, have helped raise people's awareness of the quality of local products" - Ms. Vu Thi Vien, member of Chi Lang Youth Cooperative, Lang Son province said.

In the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade of Lang Son province will continue to be the focal point, coordinated with related sectors to develop solutions to develop e-commerce human resources in a professional, effective and legally compliant manner.
