Pepper exports officially surpass 1 billion USD mark

In the first 15 days of October, pepper exports earned 58.3 million USD, so from the beginning of the year to October 15, pepper exports officially earned over 1 billion USD.

According to the Association Pepper According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in the first 15 days of October, Vietnam exported 9,039 tons of pepper, with total export turnover reaching 58.3 million USD. USA is still the main export market accounting for 31.7% reaching 2,865 tons, while Olam is the largest exporter reaching 1,424 tons, accounting for 15.8%. Next are Nedspice Vietnam with 945 tons, Phuc Sinh with 793 tons, Tran Chau with 761 tons and Lien Thanh with 578 tons.

Pepper exports officially surpass 1 billion USD mark

Previously, VPSA said that in the first 9 months of the year, Vietnam exported 200,894 tons of pepper of all kinds, of which black pepper reached 177,953 tons and white pepper reached 22,941 tons. Total export turnover reached 991 million USD, of which black pepper reached 781.9 million USD and white pepper reached 142.1 million USD.

Compared to the same period in 2023, the export volume decreased by 1.7%; however, the export turnover increased by 46.1%. The average export price of black pepper in the first 9 months reached 4,852 USD/ton, white pepper reached 6,461 USD/ton, up 40.9% for black pepper and 30.4% for white pepper compared to the same period last year.

Thus, from the beginning of the year to October 15, pepper export reached 209,933 tons of pepper of all kinds; total export turnover exceeded the 1 billion USD mark and reached 1.0493 billion USD.

On the other hand, in the first 15 days of October 2024, Vietnam imported 2,295 tons, with a total import turnover of 13.7 million USD. Indonesia is the main pepper supplier to Vietnam, accounting for 79.5% of 1,824 tons, while the main importing enterprises include: Tran Chau with 407 tons, Harris Spice with 360 tons, Phuc Sinh with 350 tons, Olam Vietnam with 342 tons and Phuc Thinh with 327 tons.

Thus, from the beginning of the year to October 15, Vietnam imported 26,073 tons of pepper, with a total import turnover of 115.7 million USD.
