On August 29, the People's Committee of Pong Drang commune held a conference to deploy the production, harvesting and consumption of durian in the 2025 crop year.

Pong Drang commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Ea Ngai and Tan Lap communes and Pong Drang town. The commune has an area of ​​85.03 km² and a population of 30,208 people.

In the 2025 crop year, Pong Drang commune will have 2,362 hectares of durian; of which 1,580 hectares will be harvested, with an estimated output of 13,900 tons. Pong Drang commune has been granted 3 packing facility codes and 26 durian growing area codes for official export by Chinese Customs, with an area of ​​534.3 hectares, with 358 households participating in production.

Currently, the commune's Ri6 durian is entering the harvest season; Dona durian is harvested from September to November. The main form of consumption is that businesses sign contracts directly with farmers or purchase through traders.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune Phan Hoang Lam requested that organizations and individuals who have been granted codes for growing areas and packaging facilities need to strictly manage, ensure product quality, and maintain their reputation in the export market. In addition, specialized departments must coordinate to guide people on techniques for caring for and harvesting durian according to the correct process; develop a production - purchasing chain to help farmers feel secure in consuming their products. At the same time, he recommended that people need to sign purchase contracts carefully and transparently to avoid risks and not be "trapped" by businesses that lack credibility.
