Mbeumo's transfer to MU has another change

Manchester United's bid to sign Bryan Mbeumo has hit another snag after a second bid of £55m plus £7.5m in add-ons was rejected by Brentford.

According to The Athletic , despite Mbeumo's insistence on joining the Red Devils, the Bees have maintained a tough stance, demanding a fee of nearly £65 million be paid largely immediately.

Brentford, despite losing manager Thomas Frank to Spurs for £10m in compensation, are under no pressure to sell their star man. Mbeumo is under contract until June 2026, with an option for a year. However, the player's public desire to leave could make it difficult for Brentford to keep him long-term.

Mbeumo cannot join MU yet.

As for Man United, the club's board of directors is still confident that they can complete the deal thanks to Mbeumo's cooperation and abundant financial resources. They are willing to pay a salary of 150,000-175,000 pounds/week for the Cameroonian player, with bonuses that can increase the total income to 200,000 pounds/week.

Man United see Mbeumo as the next important piece in their attack rebuild under manager Ruben Amorim, having successfully recruited Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m. The 25-year-old Cameroon winger scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season and was one of the most outstanding attacking stars in the league. As well as Man United, Tottenham, Newcastle and Arsenal have also been keeping an eye on him.

However, according to many sources, Mbeumo has clearly affirmed his desire to join Man Utd and is not interested in moving to Tottenham. He personally informed his former coach Thomas Frank that Old Trafford is the only destination he is aiming for.

Along with the shopping deals, Man United are also in the process of cleaning up the squad. Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia are all being sold to make way for new names. Of which, Rashford is closely watched by Barcelona, while Garnacho is in the sights of Chelsea and Napoli.
