According to The Athletic , despite Mbeumo's insistence on joining the Red Devils, the Bees have maintained a tough stance, demanding a fee of nearly £65 million be paid largely immediately.
Brentford, despite losing manager Thomas Frank to Spurs for £10m in compensation, are under no pressure to sell their star man. Mbeumo is under contract until June 2026, with an option for a year. However, the player's public desire to leave could make it difficult for Brentford to keep him long-term.

As for Man United, the club's board of directors is still confident that they can complete the deal thanks to Mbeumo's cooperation and abundant financial resources.
