Ms. Tham takes care of the bonsai garden

Realizing that the hobby of bonsai is growing among the people, Ms. Phan Thi Tham discussed with her husband to borrow capital through the women's channel to start a business. Besides importing bonsai and flower pots to sell, after a period of understanding the market, Ms. Tham realized that the demand for buying cast pots is very high. Through the process of research and learning, Ms. Tham and her husband started making the first flower pots.

“In the early days, we were still inexperienced and had no experience, so the products we made were not as expected. Without being discouraged, my husband and I continued to learn, research, improve our skills, and come up with our own ideas to design beautiful, sophisticated models that were suitable for customer tastes as well as market needs,” Ms. Tham shared.

According to Ms. Tham, in order for the flower pot making profession to have a place in the market, in addition to producing beautiful flower pots, it is necessary to have a unique mark, so she hired someone to make double pots - pots with hand-painted patterns.

The raw materials to make the pots include cement and mixed construction sand, but each pot has its own beauty. That is the result of the craftsmen's own secrets and the meticulousness and precision in each stage; especially for the double pots, which are kneaded by the craftsmen into sophisticated and unique patterns.

Ms. Tham's facility currently produces dozens of types of bonsai pots of different sizes, priced from several hundred thousand to tens of millions of dong.

Not only during the Tet holiday, but the potted plants produced by Ms. Tham’s facility are in high demand all year round. Therefore, the work of her husband, wife and workers is always stable.

According to Ms. Tham, every year after deducting expenses, her family has a revenue of over 250 million VND from selling ornamental plants and casting pots. Currently, there are not many establishments making double pots in the area, so the market is quite stable. The pots produced by Ms. Tham's establishment are completely handmade, very meticulous, sturdy, and reasonably priced, so they are popular with many people.

While introducing the pots, she directed the workers to load the large double pots onto the truck to prepare for shipping to the northern provinces. “I have many customers from other provinces, especially double pots. During the production process, I always focus on quality and ensure the technique, so each product that reaches the customer receives positive feedback,” Ms. Tham confided.

The more she sticks with it, the more passionate she becomes about growing, caring for bonsai and casting pots. Each product is carefully crafted, completed and delivered to customers with the whole heart and soul of her and her husband. Following the profession and sticking with it not only brings a more and more stable income, but currently, Ms. Tham's facility is providing jobs for 5 workers with an average salary of 10 - 20 million VND/month, depending on their skills.

Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Bich, President of the Women's Union of Thuy Chau Ward, informed: Ms. Tham is a young, diligent member, willing to learn and explore to start a business and develop the family economy . Currently, her family's bonsai and potting business is operating very stably, contributing to creating jobs for local workers. She is also an active women's member in movements and union activities...
