On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, after the morning trading session, the market performed quite well with green appearing. The VN-Index easily touched and then surpassed the 1,600 point mark, at one point reaching close to 1,608 points.
However, near lunchtime, selling pressure increased, causing the index representing the floor to turn red and lose the 1,600-point mark. At the end of the morning trading session, the VN-Index temporarily stopped at 1,596.54 points, down 0.32 points.

In the afternoon session, profit-taking pressure initially continued to restrain the market, with the index falling further below the 1,600-point mark. However, from nearly 2 p.m., bottom-fishing cash flow grew stronger towards the end of the session, helping stocks recover quickly.
At the end of the session, VN-Index increased by 11.36 points (0.71%) to 1,608.22 points. This is the first time the market closed above the 1,600 point mark. VN30-Index reached 1,755.25 points after "increasing" by 13.35 points (0.77%). The entire floor had 176 stocks increasing in price, 156 stocks decreasing in price. In the VN30 group, the number of stocks increasing in price was twice as high (19 stocks and 9 stocks).
The industry groups that increased points dominated. Of which, energy was the only industry that increased by more than 1%. On the other hand, trade and professional services and telecommunications services were the two industries that decreased by more than 1%.
The VN-Index depends on pillar stocks. The group of stocks with large capitalization, including banks, strongly supported the market. BID increased by 3.23%, contributing the most to the market with nearly 2.2 points; followed by LPB (more than 1.6 points), VCB (nearly 1 point), MBB (0.86 points), HDB (0.8 points).
Meanwhile, VHM decreased by 0.53%, taking away the most points with nearly 0.47 points.
Market liquidity reached a high level with over VND45,000 billion changed hands. Of which, HPG was the only code with a transaction value of over VND2,000 billion. Foreign investors bought over VND3,321 billion and sold over VND4,000 billion.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, at the end of the session, the HNX-Index remained almost unchanged, stopping at 276.4 points while the HNX30-Index closed at 614.75 points, down slightly by 0.35 points (-0.06%). The entire floor had more than 3,000 billion VND changed hands.
