Binh Giang commune currently has 10 hamlets. The commune police force consists of 18 officers and soldiers. Not only are they close to and enthusiastically support people in carrying out administrative procedures, the commune police force also actively implements measures to maintain security and order, and mobilize people to raise their awareness of law compliance. Major Vu Dinh Duy - Deputy Head of Binh Giang Commune Police said that during the peak period, the police force coordinated with the security and order team to propagate and mobilize people to hand over weapons. Thereby, Mr. Pham Van Mang, residing in Giong Ke hamlet, voluntarily handed over his air gun, demonstrating his self-awareness for the community.
At 2 p.m., the weather was hot and sunny, at the Thanh Loc Commune Police Headquarters, many people came to carry out administrative procedures. Coming to the Commune Police to register for a new ID card, Ms. Le Thi Be Mai, residing in Hoa An Hamlet, Thanh Loc Commune said: "The police force works in a small room, with makeshift equipment, but always prioritizes quick procedures for the people. I am very touched."
According to Captain Vo Hoang Viet - Deputy Chief of Thanh Loc Commune Police, the initial establishment encountered many difficulties. The headquarters used to belong to a small commune, but now 4 communes have merged into a larger commune, so there is a lack of office space. However, most of the officers and soldiers are proactive in performing professional tasks, staying close to the area, familiar with the terrain, and resolving administrative procedures for the people without interruption.
Firmly maintain people's security posture
Thanh Loc has 24 hamlets, an industrial park, and a large, complex area. Captain Vo Hoang Viet said that the commune has 34 officers and soldiers, divided into 5 specialized teams. The local police team has only 10 people, so the situation of households is sometimes not tight. Each officer has to do many jobs, from issuing ID cards, confirming residence to handling reports and patrolling. To connect with the people, Thanh Loc Commune Police manage 24 hamlet Zalo groups, with more than 1,000 members, regularly sharing legal information, security and order situations, crime warnings, etc. This method helps people grasp information quickly, raising awareness of self-protection, family and community.
Thanh Loc Commune Police are also creative in disseminating the law. Normative documents are converted into illustrative images, easy to remember, easy to share via Zalo and Facebook. Ms. Nguyen Thi Mung, residing in Thanh Loi Hamlet, said: "I joined the Zalo group of the Commune Police, I saw that methods of theft and fraud were shared specifically, with vivid images, very easy to understand."
In Binh Giang commune, Zalo groups are also effective, serving as a direct connection channel between the people and the police force. Major Vu Dinh Duy said: "Keeping the people's trust cannot be replaced by any equipment or technology, but rather trust is created by the actions and words of each officer and soldier."
During the peak period from August 1 to 15, Binh Giang Commune Police disseminated information about the harmful effects of drugs to 24 young people and asked them to sign a commitment not to use them. The commune police educated and reformed 13 people with criminal records; organized 10 criminal patrols with the participation of 71 officers; and disbanded a gambling den in the form of betta fighting. In addition, the police force also patrolled to prevent illegal mining. Ms. Huynh Thi Be Ba, residing in Ranh Hat Hamlet, said: "Previously, young people gathered and caused disorder. Now people are excited because the police force has good control, young people are educated, and gambling dens have been eliminated."
It is the dedication and closeness in each job that has created the foundation for the police force of the communes to consolidate the people's security posture, where the people are not only the objects of service but also the subjects accompanying to protect the area. When night falls, the people together with the commune police officers, security and order teams patrol the routes from the national highway to the inter-hamlet. The officers and soldiers remind the people to bring their vehicles into the house, lock the doors carefully, and disperse gatherings. This work contributes to a significant reduction in crimes such as theft and drugs. Law violations among teenagers have decreased. Captain Vo Hoang Viet shared: "When needing to handle procedures such as issuing ID cards, vehicle registration, electronic identification... people come to the commune police. We are always ready to support when people bring all the necessary documents."
