Marks of the 2020 - 2025 term

According to the Political Report of the Party Executive Committee of Tan Chau Ward for the 2020-2025 term, despite many difficulties, with the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and efforts of the entire Party Committee, the support of the People, and the close direction of the Tan Chau Town Party Committee (old), the socio-economic situation in the ward has achieved many positive results. Attention has been paid to social security work; national defense, security, order, and social safety have been maintained.

Every year, the ward Party Committee has achieved the title of clean and strong. The ward was recognized as meeting civilized urban standards in 2024. Notably, 13/13 targets of the congress resolution were completed, of which 6 targets far exceeded the plan.

The economy maintains a stable growth rate, the structure shifts in a positive direction: The proportion of trade and services is increasing, while the proportion of agriculture is gradually decreasing. By 2025, the average income per capita of the ward is estimated to reach 88 million VND/year, far exceeding the set target (69.89 million VND). The poverty rate has decreased to 0.62%, more than 95.7% of the population participates in health insurance.

Infrastructure has been invested synchronously with 39 items, total cost of over 198 billion VND; 35 alley upgrading projects, cost of over 10.5 billion VND, contributing to creating a spacious urban appearance. The movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life has developed extensively.

Secretary of Tan Chau Ward Party Committee Nguyen Minh Hung affirmed: “The results achieved in the past term are a testament to the solidarity and unanimity of the entire Party Committee and People of the ward. This is an important premise for the ward to make a strong breakthrough, aiming to become a central urban area in the northern region of An Giang province.”

Accelerate development

In the 2025 - 2030 term, Tan Chau ward is facing many new opportunities. The goal set for 2030 is to build Tan Chau ward into a central urban area in the northern region of the province, including specific targets: Average income per capita reaches 120 million VND/year; average economic growth rate of 10%/year; reducing the multidimensional poverty rate to 0.33%; the rate of participation in universal health insurance reaches 97%; 100% of schools meet national standards, of which at least one school meets level 2 standards.

To realize this goal, the Ward Party Committee has identified many key tasks and solutions. In particular, focusing on three strategic breakthroughs including: Continuing to improve urban infrastructure, focusing on environmental landscape, developing smart, green, clean and beautiful urban areas. Arranging the organizational apparatus in the direction of "refined, compact, strong, effective and efficient", building a friendly government, close to the people, serving the people. Developing high-quality human resources, promoting the application of science, technology, digital transformation; encouraging the development of the private economy, creating new momentum for growth.

In addition, the ward prioritizes sustainable economic development towards modernizing the fields of trade, services and high-quality tourism; developing new technology industries; promoting the development of high-tech ecological agriculture, associated with OCOP products. At the same time, promoting investment in education, health care, social security care, improving people's lives.

Standing Deputy Secretary of Tan Chau Ward Party Committee Vo Thi Kim Dinh emphasized: “In the coming period, Tan Chau will focus on mobilizing all resources, promoting the spirit of solidarity and creativity to build the ward into a central urban area in the north of the province. This is a big goal, requiring high determination and drastic action.”

With a solid foundation from the achievements and the support of the people, we believe that Tan Chau ward will gradually realize its aspiration to become a central urban area, making an important contribution to the development of the province.
