On the morning of August 25, the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province held a conference to deploy tasks for the 2025-2026 school year at the primary level, connecting to 102 points in communes, wards, and special zones throughout the province. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training attended and chaired the conference.

In the 2024-2025 school year, An Giang province will have 544 primary schools (including 4 non-public schools; 75 primary and secondary schools, 3 primary and secondary schools; 2 schools for children with disabilities), with 306,938 students (1,102 non-public students); 1,193 administrators and 16,228 teachers.
Education quality has 27.55% excellent students; 19.13% good students; 51.78% completed students; the rate of students repeating a grade is 1.13%; the rate of students dropping out of school is 0.31%; 11-year-old students completing primary school is 95.22%.
In the 2024-2025 school year, the An Giang Education sector will implement the 2018 General Education Program at the Primary level in a synchronous, flexible, effective and appropriate manner to the circumstances and conditions of each school unit. Facilities and minimum teaching equipment are invested in accordance with regulations.
The organization of teaching Foreign Languages and Information Technology is ensured according to the Program of the Ministry of Education and Training . Organizing the teaching of unified local educational materials throughout the sector and implementing STEM education activities in all primary schools. At the same time, gradually implementing digital transformation in school administration, teaching and learning and implementing digital report cards for all primary school students; issuing digital signatures to 13,386 teachers, reaching 100% as planned.

At the conference, delegates discussed solutions to remove difficulties and overcome limitations of the previous school year, while effectively implementing the task of improving the quality of primary education in the 2025-2026 school year.
The leaders of the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province requested that schools continue to flexibly implement the 2018 General Education Program, suitable to the practical conditions of the school. Implement 2-session teaching/day in all primary education institutions.
Continue to innovate teaching and testing methods, and evaluate students in the direction of developing their qualities and abilities, creating opportunities and conditions for students to develop comprehensively; promote STEM education, digital skills, and artificial intelligence (AI); improve the quality of English teaching in the whole province, gradually making English a second language.
Strengthening conditions to ensure education quality, developing school networks, building schools that meet national standards, investing in building boarding schools (according to the new model) in border communes and ethnic minority areas.
Promote digital transformation, apply artificial intelligence (AI) in school management and teaching, promote STEM education.

At the same time, continue to educate students on ethics and lifestyle; strengthen life skills education, build a culture of behavior in schools, and integrate flexible and appropriate educational content.
At the same time, continue to strengthen and improve the quality of universal primary education, effectively implement ethnic education and inclusive education for students with disabilities to ensure equitable access to education for all students.
