This afternoon, June 24 (local time), a special cultural space called the Vietnam Garden was inaugurated right on the premises of the Asia- Pacific Museum, in Poland. This is one of the most famous and prestigious museums of Asian-European culture in Europe.

In addition, the art program "Quintessence of Vietnamese Culture" and the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Colors of Vietnamese Culture" also took place on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Poland.

Vietnamese identity in the international museum space

The Asia- Pacific Museum (founded in 1973), the only museum in Poland and one of the few museums in Europe specializing in the culture, art and life of Asian and Pacific countries, currently preserves about 25,000 artifacts from more than 40 countries, including artifacts on beliefs, fine arts, crafts, costumes, musical instruments, household items... In which, Vietnam displays a large and outstanding collection of artifacts, including Tuong masks, traditional musical instruments, traditional costumes, Buddha statues, folk paintings...

Present in this special museum, the Vietnamese Garden introduces a cultural space imbued with national identity to the Polish public and the world, contributing to spreading the image of Vietnam in the international museum environment; demonstrating the connection between culture - art - landscape architecture, contributing to building a humane, close and unique image of Vietnam on the cultural map in Poland and Europe.

“We appreciate the significance of the creation of this garden. This is not only a landscape project, but also a vivid symbol of the identity, cultural depth and spirit of the Vietnamese people. The bamboo canopies, hedges, small paths, traditional materials… not only remind us of our homeland, but also tell the world humane stories about the people and country of Vietnam,” said Deputy Minister Ho An Phong.

Notably, the opening of the Vietnam Garden is also a meaningful highlight in the series of activities of the Vietnam Culture - Tourism Week in Poland.

Comprehensive cooperation after 75 years

Previously, at the Polski Theater, Warsaw, Poland, the art program "Quintessence of Vietnamese culture" and the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Colors of Vietnamese culture" took place, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Poland.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the Republic of Poland and Lithuania, Mr. Ha Hoang Hai affirmed: “Every milestone is a living proof of the strength of trust and solidarity between the people of the two countries,” and expressed his appreciation for the Vietnamese community in Poland, who have been playing a special role in preserving and spreading the friendship between the two peoples.

“They are the living bridges that constantly light the flame of cooperation through many activities promoting Vietnamese heritage, traditions, arts and cuisine,” Ambassador Ha Hoang Hai emphasized.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong acknowledged and appreciated the contributions of Polish experts in the field of heritage conservation, especially architect Kazik (a close friend of Vietnam who has devoted himself to the conservation of Vietnam's outstanding world cultural heritages such as Hoi An, My Son and the ancient capital of Hue).

Because of the heritage connection, Vietnam and Poland have more basis to promote cooperation in the tourism sector - where culture is not only preserved but also spread and deeply connected.

The proof is that the Vietnam Culture and Tourism Festival that took place in Warsaw Citadel on June 22 attracted a large number of Polish people and international tourists to explore the quintessence of Vietnamese culture.

Ambassador Ha Hoang Hai stated that the geographical distance between Vietnam and Poland is no longer a barrier, but has become a door for the two countries to continue to open cooperation in the fields of trade, investment and education, while expanding new connections in the environment, green energy, agriculture, digital transformation and innovation.

Over the years, the relationship between the two countries has developed strongly and diversified in many fields from trade, education, science to culture. The connection between the two peoples is increasingly strong, nurtured by many generations of students, workers and multicultural families who have lived, studied and actively contributed to the development of both nations. Poland has long been a friendly partner of Vietnam in Europe. Vietnam has always been one of Poland's most trusted partners in Southeast Asia.

The 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries is not only a ceremonial event, but also a reminder of the value of trust, the achievements of cooperation, as well as the strong bond that binds the two countries across all geographical and cultural distances./.
