Dong Trieu City Fatherland Front Committee: Promoting the effectiveness of socialized resources

In recent times, the Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Trieu City and its member organizations have actively mobilized and effectively promoted socialized resources to renovate and upgrade many projects and technical infrastructure works in the area.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Duong Ward (Dong Trieu City) effectively promotes socialized resources to care for the lives of local people.

In October 2024, the project to renovate and upgrade the road from National Highway 18A to Binh Son Dong area (Binh Duong ward) connecting with Nguyen Hue commune road (Dong Trieu city) with a total length of 810m, 5m wide was completed and put into use, creating convenience for people in the area to travel; connecting and trading between 3 wards and communes: Binh Duong - Nguyen Hue - Thuy An; contributing to making the appearance of Binh Duong ward in particular, Dong Trieu city in general increasingly spacious and clean.

Mr. Pham Van Sang (Group 3, Binh Son Dong area) said: Previously, people's travel was very difficult because the road was narrow, the road surface was cracked, broken, rough, and patchy; at the beginning of the route, there were 3 electric poles built in a triangle shape next to a small, narrow corner, which was very dangerous for people when they had to travel at night. The gate of the area was built many years ago, low and narrow, limiting the passage of large vehicles. In addition, the technical infrastructure such as electricity, telecommunications, and irrigation were not arranged synchronously, which greatly affected traffic and urban beauty. Since the road was renovated and upgraded, people in the neighborhood have been very happy and excited, many households have purchased trucks and modern agricultural machinery to serve large-scale production.

According to Mr. Do Van Nho, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Duong Ward, to complete the renovation and upgrading of the road, in addition to the city budget support of 2.022 billion VND, local people have contributed 1.333 billion VND, equivalent to 1.2 million VND/person. This is a fairly high contribution compared to the income of people in rural areas, not to mention that there are households with 8-9 people, so initially they did not agree, and the mobilization encountered many difficulties. The Fatherland Front Committee of the ward and its member organizations determined that they must persistently go to every alley, knock on every door, choose appropriate times to propagate and mobilize people to see the benefits of upgrading the road. Not only that, party members, front officials, and mass organizations in the neighborhood have taken the lead in contributing, with each of the 5 members of the neighborhood Party Committee lending 20 million VND in advance, from which the people have agreed and actively participated.

By doing so, in 2024, Binh Duong ward will complete 2 other technical infrastructure projects, including: Upgrading and asphalting the main road of Dong Lam area and renovating and beautifying the landscape in front of the Ward People's Committee headquarters with a total cost of nearly 5 billion VND. Of which, the city budget supports 3,490 billion VND, the rest is contributed by the people and socialized sources.

In 2024, Dong Trieu City completed and put into use 144 technical infrastructure works, such as: Renovating and beautifying the sidewalks of National Highway 18A; upgrading and paving the asphalt of main roads; upgrading the lighting system; renovating the environmental wastewater treatment system... with a total investment of 83.2 billion VND. Of which, the city budget supported 54.4 billion VND, the capital source was mobilized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and member organizations, the socialized source was 28.8 billion VND, the socialized contribution rate in the city's communes and wards reached over 30% of the total investment.

After being put into use, the projects and works have effectively promoted investment resources, created highlights in urban beautification and modernized urban infrastructure in the context of limited resources; contributed to creating a bright, green, clean and beautiful urban face in accordance with the city's urban development orientation.

This result also affirms the great role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in building the people's hearts and minds, promoting the strength of solidarity and consensus of the people to invest in urban technical infrastructure in accordance with the motto "Using the people's strength to care for the people".
