Scope of planning research: planning research area covers an area of about 30,875 hectares.

The planning scale is the entire area of 1,158 hectares of protected zones I and II of the special national relic My Son Temple Complex.
The research subjects for planning include the system of temples and towers, ruins and architectural-archeological traces, mountain landscapes, streams... creating the special typical values of the relics.
Besides, there are related intangible cultural values such as festivals, customs, and folk legends.
Management, protection, investment in preservation, renovation, restoration and promotion of the value of relics, technical infrastructure; socio -economic and environmental factors related to relics, institutions, policies, planning and plans.
The goal of planning is to preserve, restore and restore the values of the special national relic My Son Temple Complex, protect forest resources and biodiversity.
Promoting the value of this relic to continue being an attractive cultural tourist destination; connecting with other historical - cultural relics and scenic spots, forming a chain of tourism products combined with environmental protection.
In addition, determining the boundary of the protected area of this relic serves as a legal basis for management, determining functional areas, organizing landscape architecture space and arranging technical infrastructure suitable for the stages of conservation and promotion of the value of the relic.
To serve as a legal basis for the preparation, appraisal, approval and implementation of component projects on conservation, restoration and promotion of relic values according to approved planning and to continue implementing projects that have not been or are being implemented in the 2008-2020 period.

Proposed scope of planning research
Regarding the content of planning tasks, it is necessary to determine the requirements for research, survey, and assessment of the current status of relics; research and assessment of socio-economic factors and natural environment related to the planning content.
Identify the characteristics and typical values of the relic, propose the scope of planning research and planning scope.
Besides, forecast and determine the development indicators of the planning area, orient the planning of technical infrastructure system.
The Government requires that the planning period shall not exceed 24 months from the date the planning task is approved.
The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Quang Nam province (the People's Committee of Da Nang city according to Resolution No. 202, from July 1, Quang Nam province merged with Da Nang city) to be responsible for presiding over the planning organization; arranging capital sources, approving the cost estimates for planning and other related costs.
