On July 19, Nha Trang Xua craft village (Nam Nha Trang ward, Khanh Hoa province) organized a lacquer painting workshop with the theme "Keeping the original heart intact", attracting domestic and foreign tourists to attend.
At the workshop, visitors are introduced to and learn about lacquer and the history of traditional lacquer paintings, practice basic lacquer painting techniques such as painting, layering, sketching, drawing and finishing, and then create their own complete painting.
Ms. Le Thi Kieu Dang - representative of Nha Trang Xua craft village - said that through the workshop, the craft village hopes to create a space to introduce traditional crafts related to lacquer paintings and the cultural beauty of traditional crafts to tourists from all over.
At the workshop, visitors expressed their ideas on each painting, familiar images of Vietnam were shown on the paintings such as lotus flowers, conical hats, or images of boats, bamboo trees...

The first time making a lacquer painting by hand, tourist Dang Le Ni (20 years old) said it took nearly 3 hours to complete the painting.
Ms. Ni believes that although this is just one of the steps in making a complete lacquer painting, it takes a lot of time and requires meticulousness from the artisan making the painting, showing how difficult it is to create a work of art that carries the soul of the Vietnamese people.
After completing the lotus painting, Nikita (a Russian tourist) expressed that when he came here and made the Vietnamese painting himself, he realized the value and effort of many people to create these wonderful paintings.
