Right in the Warm-up round, the contestants showed the competitiveness and fierceness of the Quarterly competition when they finished this round with almost the same score. At the end of the Warm-up round, Thanh Tung had 40 points, temporarily ranked second with 2 other contestants, 20 points behind the temporarily leading contestant, Tuan Thanh.
However, Thanh Tung quickly changed his position in the Obstacle Course competition.
After correctly answering the first horizontal hint question, as soon as the second hint question was announced by the MC, Thanh Tung pressed the bell to signal for the answer to the Obstacle. Immediately, his friend Tuan Thanh also pressed the bell.
However, it was Thanh Tung who gave the correct answer to the question “Rare Earth” as the obstacle, thus gaining 50 more points, raising his score to 100 after this round and taking the lead. However, at this time, the Khanh Hoa male student was only 30 points behind his temporarily second-placed friend, Tuan Thanh.
The Acceleration round witnessed Thanh Tung's strongest and most impressive breakthrough when he gave correct answers to all questions and was also the only contestant to answer all 4 questions.
In this round, Thanh Tung won 130 more points, raising his total score to 230 and continuing to hold the leading position, 100 points ahead of the two players right behind him, Tuan Thanh and Tran Chau.
In the Finish Line round, Thanh Tung chose 3 questions of 20, however, he did not have a successful turn. In his turn, in the second question, the male student was deprived of the right to answer and lost 20 points, leaving him with only 210 points.
However, Thanh Tung showed his excellence and won important points in the remaining players' turns to consolidate his leading position.
Specifically, in Tuan Thanh's turn, Thanh Tung won the right to answer and gave the correct answer, thereby gaining 30 more points, raising his score to 240.
In Cong Nguyen's turn, Thanh Tung won the right to answer 2 questions in a row and answered 1 question incorrectly (minus 15 points) and 1 question correctly (plus 30 points). The final score of 255 helped Thanh Tung win convincingly when he was 125 points ahead of his second-place opponent.
Thereby, Thanh Tung won the laurel wreath and brought the television broadcast of the Road to Olympia 2025 Final to Khanh Hoa province.
“At first, I thought that getting to the quarter-final was already good, but I didn’t expect to create a surprise. This will help me be more confident in my own abilities. I will try harder not only in the Olympia playground but also in learning other knowledge,” Tung said.
Following Doan Thanh Tung (student of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Khanh Hoa), are Pham Tuan Thanh (student of Lien Ha High School, Hanoi) with 130 points; Le Hoang Tran Chau (student of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Quang Tri) with 110 points and Hoang Cong Nguyen (student of Thai Binh High School for the Gifted, Thai Binh ) with 60 points.
