Ships, boats and means of transport are prohibited from going to sea from 5:00 a.m. on August 24. Ships operating at sea must return to shore and anchor to ensure safety before 10:00 a.m. on August 24.
The Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee requested: Use all means and measures to notify ships and boats at sea of the storm's developments, guide and call on ships and boats to take shelter in safe places or escape from dangerous areas. Provide guidance on anchoring ships and boats at shelters (including tourist boats and transport ships); organize the relocation and anchoring of aquaculture cages and floating houses to ensure safety.
According to the report of the Provincial Border Guard Command, Nghe An has 2,918 vehicles, with 13,240 workers directly fishing. As of 10:00 a.m. on August 23: The number of boats anchored at the port is 2,501 vehicles, with 10,638 workers.
The number of vessels operating at sea is 415, with 2,599 workers. Of these, the number of vessels operating in Hoang Sa is 13, with 52 workers; operating in the Gulf of Tonkin is 195, with 1,603 workers; operating along the coast of Nghe An province is 205, with 896 workers; operating outside the province is 2 vessels, with 8 workers (Ho Chi Minh City sea area).
Currently, no fishing vessels are uncontactable; no fishing vessels are operating in the danger zone. All vessels operating at sea have received notification of the location and direction of storm No. 5.
According to forecast information from the Nghe An Province Hydrometeorological Station, this morning (August 23), the tropical depression in the eastern sea of the North East Sea has strengthened into a storm - storm No. 5 (international name: Kajiki); At 7:00 a.m. on August 23, the center of the storm was at about 17.2 degrees North latitude; 116.6 degrees East longitude, about 480 km East Northeast of Hoang Sa special zone. The strongest wind near the center of the storm is level 8, gusting to level 10; moving in the West Northwest direction at a speed of about 25 km/h.
Due to the impact of the storm, it is forecasted that from the afternoon of August 24, the sea area of Nghe An province (including Hon Ngu island) will have winds gradually increasing to level 6-8, then increasing to level 9-10, the area near the storm's eye will have level 11-12, gusting to level 15; waves 4.0-6.0m high, the area near the storm's eye will be 6.0-8.0m high, the sea will be very rough. The coastal area of Nghe An province will have storm surges of 0.5-1.0m high, the water level at Hon Ngu will be 3.3-3.7m high.
