On the morning of August 25, gasoline prices increased slightly. At 7:45 a.m. (Vietnam time), US WTI crude oil edged up 0.2%, trading close to the $64/barrel mark; Brent crude oil also increased by the same amount, trading at $67.9/barrel.
Oil prices are expected to fluctuate within a narrow range but tend to increase slightly due to the market's potential instability surrounding the prospects of peace between Russia and Ukraine. In addition, an unexpected decline in US crude oil reserves also supported this price increase.
According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), US crude oil inventories fell sharply by 6 million barrels last week, more than three times the 1.8 million barrel decline forecast by analysts in a previous Reuters survey. In addition, the stalled peace talks between Russia and Ukraine put pressure on the energy market.

In another development, according to Bloomberg, India announced that it will continue to buy crude oil from Russia on financially efficient terms. This announcement was made in the context that the US may raise import tariffs up to 50% on Russian oil.
Updated prices of finished petroleum products on the Singapore market this morning show that prices of finished petroleum products have all increased. It is forecasted that domestic petroleum prices in this week's adjustment period may increase simultaneously, with a maximum increase of VND500/liter. Last week, gasoline prices increased from VND100 to VND200/liter.
On the morning of August 25, the common retail prices of gasoline on the market were as follows: E5 RON92 gasoline is no higher than VND 19,464/liter; RON95-III gasoline is no higher than VND 20,092/liter; 0.05S diesel is no higher than VND 17,905/liter; kerosene is no higher than VND 17,814/liter; 180CST 3.5S fuel oil is no higher than VND 15,116/kg./.
