Towards people having a better life
Currently, Ben Tre is aiming for sustainable poverty reduction, not only stopping at eliminating temporary housing but also creating conditions for people to have a better life.
Mr. Phan Thanh Tre, Deputy Secretary of Ben Tre Provincial Youth Union, said that in order for the movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" to continue to be effective and spread widely, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has proposed many solutions. Specifically, the Provincial Youth Union has promoted propaganda work in a close direction, associating each eliminated house with a humane story about the family's circumstances; about the household's journey to overcome difficulties, in order to spread the meaning of the movement to all people. Along with that, it is necessary to pay attention to, consolidate and promote the role of Youth Volunteer Teams in localities, in which the core is union members and local youth.

According to the Deputy Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Youth Union, in order to achieve the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, the youth union will coordinate with relevant agencies and local authorities to conduct surveys and understand the labor and employment needs of households that have just received housing support. On that basis, vocational training classes will be organized, livelihood support will be provided, helping people acquire production skills suitable to their family conditions, taking advantage of the new house as a basis for economic development and escaping poverty.
In addition, one of the important tasks in the current digital age is to equip digital skills for rural people, especially households that have just received support for new houses. In particular, promoting the role of "Digital Literacy" teams in communes and wards to guide people to access digital technology in a simple and familiar way. Along with that, helping people grasp basic skills for daily life, gradually moving towards developing production in a modern and sustainable direction.
Mr. Tre emphasized that the emulation movement “Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses” is a vivid manifestation of the precious tradition of “helping each other” of our nation. “With the strength of youth, the spirit of initiative and responsibility, the youth of Ben Tre will continue to strive and join hands to contribute to building the homeland of Coconut more and more prosperous and beautiful”, Mr. Tre shared.
