At the opening ceremony of the Cambodian Cultural Week in Vietnam 2025, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia Lundi Sannnara affirmed that the peace of Cambodia today is the result of January 7, 1979 when Vietnam helped Cambodia escape the Pol Pot genocidal regime.
Promoting the tradition of cultural cooperation between the two countries, this Cambodia Cultural Week in Vietnam is like a new step in the history of organizing Cambodian cultural activities in Vietnam when performances with many art forms are held for the first time in Bac Lieu and Vinh Long, near the border of the two countries.
"These events create opportunities for Vietnamese people to broaden their vision of Cambodia and its people, contributing to bringing people-to-people exchange and cooperation between the two countries to a new height," Ms. Lundi Sannnara emphasized.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong affirmed that the Cambodian Cultural Week in Vietnam in 2025 is a meaningful cultural event to celebrate the 58th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Cambodia diplomatic relations, continuing to become an important milestone in Vietnam - Cambodia cooperation.
During their tour in Bac Lieu and Vinh Long, the Cambodian delegation will have the opportunity to explore the cultural beauty, people and tourism potential of the localities. The cultural similarities of the two nations, the cultural exchange and cooperation programs between the two countries, which are regularly organized in bilateral relations as well as within the framework of multilateral cooperation, will contribute to consolidating, enhancing and further developing the relationship of "good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability" between the two countries.
The organization of the two countries' cultural weeks, held on an annual rotational basis, has played a role as a bridge, creating conditions for cultural exchange and enhancing mutual understanding between the Vietnamese and Cambodian people, especially the Khmer people.
Within the framework of the event, artists and actors of the Cambodian troupe performed performances imbued with the cultural imprint of the country and people of Cambodia such as peacock dance, Apsara dance, Ploy Souy dance, Cambodian music and songs... Bac Lieu and Vinh Long provinces also participated in a number of special performances praising the beauty of the country and people of Vietnam such as: Vietnamese Spirit, Singing Forever the Military March...
