Quang Ngai: Large fire burns down plastic factory

On the evening of July 18, Chairman of the People's Committee of Mo Cay Commune ( Quang Ngai Province) Tran Ngoc Nam said that a fire broke out in a plastic factory in the area.

According to initial information, at around 8:30 p.m., people in Residential Area 23, Dam Thuy Nam Village, Mo Cay Commune discovered a fire at Mr. Phuong's plastic manufacturing workshop in the area, so they called out to the workshop owner and neighbors to put out the fire and reported it to the authorities.

About 20 minutes later, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force of Quang Ngai Provincial Police mobilized 4 fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene.

However, because this is a plastic factory, containing many flammable substances, the fire quickly spread with a column of smoke rising tens of meters high, even though the authorities quickly deployed synchronous measures to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading.

After more than 1 hour of effort, at 22:15, the fire was still not extinguished.

Currently, authorities are actively handling the fire to investigate the cause and estimate the damage./.
