After causing an accident that seriously injured a 5-year-old boy, the woman riding the motorbike did not help the victim get to the emergency room but fled the scene.

On July 4, Lieutenant Colonel Ly Vinh Thanh, Chief of Hoa Phu Commune Police, Dak Lak Province, said that the unit is coordinating with functional forces to investigate a traffic accident that injured a 5-year-old child. The person who caused the accident then left the scene.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Thanh, at noon on July 3, people discovered Y Lida Siu (born in 2020, residing in Tuor village, Hoa Phu commune) lying motionless on the side of the road after being hit by a motorbike. According to people, the motorbike was driven by a woman at high speed and hit the child, causing the victim to fall onto the road, causing a head injury. “However, the person who caused the accident did not stop to assist the victim but fled the scene. Seeing that the child was unconscious, people and his family took the child to the hospital for examination and treatment,” Lieutenant Colonel Thanh informed.

While taking care of her child at the hospital, the child’s mother said she was extremely upset by the behavior of the woman who caused the accident. “Although we don’t know who is right and who is wrong, causing an accident and then running away like that is very unconscionable. I hope the police will soon find the person who caused the accident and handle it strictly according to regulations,” the child’s mother said indignantly.

Lieutenant Colonel Thanh added that the accident did not endanger the child's life, but the driver's act of fleeing the scene made the family and the public very angry. Many people shared information about the incident on social networks to find the person who caused the accident.

“After receiving the information, Colonel Tran Binh Hung, Deputy Director of Dak Lak Provincial Police, directed the local police to urgently investigate and find the person who caused the accident. Hoa Phu Commune Police sent forces to the scene, worked with the family and witnesses to collect information. However, the verification work encountered difficulties because the entire security camera system on the village roads had been damaged by lightning before, unable to record images of the accident as well as the direction of movement of the vehicle,” Lieutenant Colonel Thanh added.
