Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung received Chilean Foreign Minister Alberto Van Klaveren

Foreign Minister Alberto Van Klaveren thanked the Head of the Central External Relations Commission for taking the time to meet him; expressed his strong impression of Vietnam's achievements in the renovation process under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam , and Vietnam's growing prestige and international position in the region and the world.

Minister Alberto Van Klaveren was pleased to announce the strong developments in the traditional relationship and comprehensive partnership with Vietnam, especially the rapid and stable increase in trade turnover in the past 10 years, reaching more than 2 billion USD, making Chile the fourth largest trade partner of Vietnam in Latin America, Vietnam is Chile's largest trade partner in ASEAN and there is still much potential to increase further in the coming time.

The Chilean Foreign Minister affirmed that the Chilean Government always considers Vietnam as a leading important partner in the Asia- Pacific region, wishes to promote and further expand cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of trade, agriculture, defense, security, customs and through Vietnam expand cooperation with the Asia-Pacific region, especially ASEAN; continue to support each other at international forums and organizations, and coordinate in preparing for high-level visits.

Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung welcomed and highly appreciated the positive results of the visit by the Chilean Foreign Minister, saying that the visit played an important role in expanding and promoting substantive cooperation between the two countries.

Head of the Committee Le Hoai Trung expressed his delight at the strong development of the traditional friendship over the past 53 years, especially since the two countries established a comprehensive partnership in 2007; affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam attach importance to and wish to promote the comprehensive partnership with Chile in the direction of increasing trust, constantly expanding cooperation and close association with each other, in which economic, trade and investment cooperation is one of the most important pillars.

Comrade Le Hoai Trung expressed his agreement with the proposals of the Chilean Foreign Minister on creating conditions and supporting goods from both countries to access each other's markets and the two countries to play the role of gateways for integration and connection in the Latin American and ASEAN regions; suggested that the Chilean Foreign Ministry promote its leading role in promoting relations, making good use of the advantages and incentives of the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries and being members of APEC and CPTPP, bringing economic, trade and investment cooperation to be increasingly expanded and more effective.

Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung also asked the Chilean Foreign Minister to continue supporting the development of relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam and important political parties in Chile and exchange and cooperation activities between localities and people of the two countries in the coming time.
