On May 23, episode 1 of the show Who is that person season 5, MC Tran Thanh gave incorrect information about the gender transition process, causing a lot of controversy.
It is known that contestant NPAK - a Thai man, changed gender from female to male 10 years ago, and his voice changed 3 years ago.

When introducing NPAK, Tran Thanh shared: “He used to be a woman. This hand, people had to open the blood vessels and put hormones and everything in to change gender.”
The program also put a subtitle in NPAK's self-introduction: "The doctor opened a vein under my arm to inject hormones into my body."
Tran Thanh's statement quickly caused the male MC to face criticism.
Doctor Nguyen Khoa Binh (Department of Urology and Andrology, Vinmec Central Park International General Hospital) commented: "When I heard this information, I was also startled because if testosterone is injected directly into the bloodstream, people can "log out" immediately.
According to Dr. Binh, this is a misunderstanding, possibly because the program maker lacked knowledge, was not consulted, and made basic mistakes.
"This is very dangerous because it can guide people to inject hormones in the wrong way. In medicine, testosterone is used a lot, not just for transgender people.
Testosterone is like oil, it is not soluble in water. Injecting it into the blood can cause embolism. If the embolism occurs in a large blood vessel or in the lungs, it can cause extremely dangerous complications. Testosterone can only be injected into the muscle, Dr. Binh further analyzed.
Giao Thong Newspaper contacted Tran Thanh's representative and the crew of the program Who is that person but neither of them have responded.

Who is that person is a copyrighted love show from Thailand. The players are single girls who want to find the right guy to love. The players have to eliminate the people who are taken (ie have a wife/lover), the LGBT people and find out who is the right single person for them. Each episode has a panel of advisors to help the players choose the right guy.
This year, the program is in its 5th season. Tran Thanh continues to be the MC, model Chau Bui is the program's advisor throughout; along with guest advisors who change every week.
