"The Ho Chi Minh City Departmentof Education and Training will announce the benchmark scores for grade 10 in 2024 one week earlier, on July 3, instead of July 10 as previously announced," said Mr. Le Hoai Nam - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training - when speaking with Tuoi Tre Online on the morning of June 30.
Previously, the department announced the admission scores for specialized and integrated grade 10. Up to now, schools have completed receiving admission applications for specialized and integrated grade 10.
According to the department, the total number of candidates registered for the 10th grade entrance exam this year is 98,681.
According to statistics on the 10th grade entrance exam scores in 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City, foreign language is the subject with the most 10 points among the three 10th grade exam subjects. Of these, 1,707 candidates achieved a perfect score in foreign language. The number of candidates achieving a score of 9 - 9.75 is 14,732.
In math, although there were many mixed opinions that the exam was "long and difficult", 49 candidates still scored 10 points. Although literature did not have a 10 point score, the number of exams with below average scores was the lowest among the three subjects.
Admission scores for grade 10 are calculated as follows:
Admission score = Literature exam score + Foreign language exam score + Math exam score + priority and incentive points (if any).
The Department only considers candidates who are eligible to take the entrance exam, have taken all required exams, have not violated the entrance exam regulations, and have not scored a zero on any exam.
Will consider enrolling in grade 10, round 2
The Department of Education and Training said it is expected to announce the benchmark scores for regular grade 10 and the list of candidates admitted to grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year on July 3.
From July 4 to August 1, 2024, candidates admitted to grade 10 will usually submit their admission application to the high school they were admitted to. If the candidate does not submit their admission application, the school will remove their name from the admission list.
After high schools receive applications for grade 10 admission, the department will review the situation and decide on the second round of additional recruitment.
