Let me remind you of the incident with Xuan Son and the next steps to resolve it. On the evening of January 5, Xuan Son was injured in the second leg of the AFF Cup 2024 final in Thailand. On the evening of January 6, less than 24 hours after the injury, Xuan Son underwent surgery in Vietnam.
Dr. Tran Trung Dung directly directed the surgery, with the participation of Dr. Vu Tu Nam and Dr. Ho Ngoc Minh from Vinmec Sports Medicine Center, both of whom are doctors with extensive experience in sports medicine and have treated many players of the Vietnam national team.
Xuan Son is taken care of very thoughtfully and professionally.
"Xuan Son's injury was quite severe, with two very large separate fractures, one 7cm and one 3cm. With the goal of helping the player recover quickly, especially in the ability to heal the bone, we performed a closed intramedullary nailing technique to ensure that the anatomy was maintained, the broken pieces were not displaced, and the fracture site did not have to be opened. The surgery was closely monitored by a C-arm (intraoperative X-ray machine) to ensure the requirements of anatomy, correction, and fixation," said Dr. Tran Trung Dung.
Learning to walk at the age of 28 is also an experience in Xuan Son's life.
Vinmec's information page said that on January 10, Son continued his active upper body training program with training time and exercises designed to be equivalent to those at the club. The weight will be gradually increased, in accordance with the recovery progress, ensuring the maintenance of muscle strength throughout the treatment period, while creating a solid foundation for a stronger comeback after injury.
Xuan Son has begun to feel confident with his steady steps. Each step not only marks his physical recovery but also demonstrates his strong will and strong desire on his journey back to the field.
