This is the first time that Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee has issued a specialized resolution on supporting and developing enterprises. Resolution 06-NQ/TU is very important, especially after the Government's Resolution 35/NQ-CP on supporting and developing enterprises until 2020 was issued. The new message given at the 5th Central Conference (term XII) is "removing all prejudices and barriers for the development of the private economy " is very important, creating a new wind for the atmosphere of startups, business development and once again affirming that enterprises are considered the driving force for the economy.

Resolution 06-NQ/TU dated December 27, 2016 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on leadership to improve the effectiveness of business support and development in the province by 2020 has achieved many positive results, building trust in the business community, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province. Accordingly, in the period of 2016 - 2020, Tien Giang had 3,343 newly established enterprises, an increase of 1.6 times compared to the period of 2011 - 2015. The total number of operating enterprises by the end of 2020 was 6,290, exceeding nearly 26% of the target set by Resolution 06-NQ/TU (by 2020, the whole province will have over 5,000 enterprises). The proportion of enterprises' contribution to the province's total GRDP increased from more than 41% in 2016 to nearly 49% in 2020; employment for employees in enterprises increased from 166,189 workers in 2016 to 190,466 workers in 2020...

Following the success of Resolution 06-NQ/TU, on July 26, 2021, Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution 07-NQ/TU on leadership to improve the effectiveness of supporting and developing enterprises in the province by 2025, with the set goal: Strive for the period 2021-2025, the number of newly registered enterprises to reach over 4,100; by 2025, the whole province will have over 8,500 operating enterprises; increase the contribution of the business sector to GRDP by 2025 to about 50%; create jobs for 280,000 workers at enterprises operating in the province. At the same time, Tien Giang continues to improve the provincial competitiveness index (PCI), especially the low component indexes, striving to have the provincial competitiveness index ranked among the top provinces in the Fair ranking group by 2025.

Perhaps, never before has the policy of improving the investment environment, developing enterprises and startups been focused from the central to local levels and implemented as vigorously as it is now. Because previously, Resolution 35/NQ-CP of the Government issued on May 16, 2016 on supporting and developing enterprises until 2020 also determined that, in order to build and perfect economic institutions, create a favorable investment and business environment for enterprises to develop and become the driving force of the economy, it is necessary to ensure the following principles: The State protects the legal property rights and the freedom of business of people and enterprises according to the provisions of law. Enterprises have the right to freely do business in industries and professions that are not prohibited by law. Implementing the policy of a creative State, taking enterprises as the objects of service, creating favorable conditions for enterprises to invest, do business and develop to build, promulgate and organize the implementation of legal regulations related to enterprises... Not to mention, recently Resolution 68Resolution 68 of the Politburo on private economic development was also issued, continuing to open up a new space and new driving force for business development.

In the spirit of the Central Government's general policy, for the first time, Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee issued a specialized resolution on supporting and developing enterprises in the province. From practical requirements, Resolution 06-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee sets the goal of creating a favorable, equal, transparent and friendly investment and business environment to attract investment; developing enterprises in both quantity and quality with reasonable scale; actively participating in the value chain of supplying goods and services, especially key, typical and competitive products, contributing to economic development, job creation and income improvement for people and enterprises.

Many foreign direct investment enterprises have been present in Tien Giang.

Practice has proven that, along with the country's wind of innovation, businesses in Tien Giang province have also begun to shift towards increasing the number and scale of operations. Thanks to that, in recent years, the number of newly established businesses in Tien Giang province has increased. Accordingly, in 2021 there were 576 businesses, in 2022 there were 923 businesses, in 2023 there were 875 and in 2024 there were newly established businesses.

One of the special highlights is that Tien Giang's investment and business environment is constantly being opened up, becoming a fertile land for domestic and foreign investors. The clearest evidence is that in recent years, Tien Giang has attracted many large-scale investment projects, especially foreign-invested enterprises. Most recently, Tien Giang provincial leaders also granted an Investment Registration Certificate to AEON Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Takeuchi Takashi, Deputy General Director of AEON Vietnam Office, stated that with the advantage of being located between major economic regions, the Southern Key Economic Zone and the Mekong Delta, and with the rapid shift to the service - industrial sector, Tien Giang is currently the third largest economy in the Mekong Delta. Tien Giang is oriented to become an important transition area from agricultural economy to service and industry, with My Tho as the development center. "We believe that the AEON My Tho Shopping Center project will not only contribute to diversifying the local modern retail system but also create thousands of jobs for people, contribute to the socio-economic development of the province, promote links with local businesses, and support Vietnamese products to go further," Mr. Takeuchi Takashi emphasized.

Tien Giang has been constantly determined to improve the investment and business environment, creating the most favorable conditions for businesses to invest and do business. The evidence is that recently, Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee continued to issue Resolution 07-NQ/TU on leadership to improve the effectiveness of supporting and developing businesses in the province until 2025. Not to mention, Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Vinh also repeatedly emphasized that Tien Giang province always welcomes domestic and foreign businesses and investors to invest in Tien Giang. Tien Giang commits to always accompany, support, create the most favorable conditions and affirms that investment in Tien Giang will be successful. The success of businesses is our own success.
