Since the beginning of the year, commercial activities in the province have been bustling, with abundant supply of goods and reasonable prices, meeting the consumption needs of the people. Many retail systems have recorded positive revenue growth compared to the same period last year.
Mr. Tran Van Thao - Director of the Central and Central Highlands region (managing the Winmart+ store system) said: “From the beginning of 2025 until now, 15 more Winmart+ stores in Ha Tinh have been opened, bringing the total number of stores in the province to 70 stores, meeting the demand for goods for people from urban to rural areas. In the first 6 months of the year, the system's sales revenue increased by about 30% compared to the same period last year. In particular, with information about counterfeit and fake goods on the market in recent times, many consumers have begun to change their habits, moving towards safe shopping places, so the number of customers coming to shop at Winmart+ has increased."

Data from the Department of Industry and Trade shows that total retail sales of goods in the first 6 months of the year reached more than VND 38,323 billion, an increase of 12.15% over the same period in 2024. During the period, revenue from many commodity groups increased sharply, such as: food and foodstuffs increased by 17.5%; household appliances increased by 22.6%; wood and construction materials increased by 12.71%; garments increased by 8.18%; cultural andeducational items increased by 5.2%; other fuels (except gasoline and oil) increased by 21.8%; precious stones, precious metals and products increased by 12.6%...
Along with retail activities, tourism and service activities also recorded positive growth. Tourism activities became a highlight in the socio -economic picture in the first half of the year. Promotion and introduction of strengths, potentials, and attracting investment in local tourism development were promoted, and the number of tourists coming to Ha Tinh increased day by day. According to statistics, in the first 6 months of the year, tourist areas and spots across the province welcomed more than 3.7 million visitors to visit and relax, an increase of 8.1% over the same period in 2024; tourism revenue reached more than 54 billion VND, an increase of more than 30% over the same period last year.

In particular, the high demand for tourism of the people during the holidays, especially beach tourism in the hot season, has contributed to the bustling food and accommodation services, increasing the revenue of hotels and restaurants. It is known that in 6 months, the revenue of accommodation and food services in the province reached more than 4,530 billion VND, an increase of 13.2% over the same period last year.
Ms. Le Thi Duan - owner of Hoa Duan restaurant (Loc Ha commune) said: "From around April onwards, the number of tourists coming to Xuan Hai beach to travel and swim has been crowded. Thanks to that, the number of customers using the restaurant's dining services has also increased sharply, making the restaurant's business more favorable. There are times during holidays or weekends when the number of customers is too much, the restaurant has to double the number of staff to serve."

In the transport service sector, in the first 6 months of 2025, the revenue of the transport and warehousing industry reached nearly VND 4,718 billion, an increase of 13.3% over the same period last year. This growth reflects the positive trend of the market in the context of the continued increase in demand for freight and travel. According to the analysis of the Provincial Statistics Office, in the first quarter, the demand for travel and freight increased sharply before and after the Lunar New Year; in the second quarter of 2025, passenger transport increased sharply when people's travel and tourism activities increased, contributing to boosting revenue in this sector. Freight transport also recorded good growth thanks to many supporting factors such as the development of construction activities leading to increased demand for material transportation; logistics activities, vibrant e-commerce goods delivery, contributing to the overall growth of the industry.
Trade, tourism, transportation, logistics activities... in the first 6 months of the year created an impressive momentum, becoming a bright spot in the economic picture of the whole province, contributing to putting Ha Tinh in the group of 30 localities (based on 63 old provinces and cities) with a GRDP growth rate of over 8%.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Statistics Office said: "The service sector accounts for 38.48% of the economic structure in the first 6 months of 2025, an increase of 1.13% over the same period. Tourism, trade and service activities have grown quite well, making an important contribution to economic growth in the area. In the first 6 months of 2025, Ha Tinh's GRDP increased by 8.16% over the same period last year; of which, the service sector contributed 2.87 percentage points, ranking second after the industrial - construction sector".

To achieve the target of GRDP reaching over 8% in 2025, the service sector is expected to grow by 7.5%, contributing 2.5 percentage points to the province's total growth. With the positive figures achieved in the first half of the year, this is an "important lever" and driving force to create momentum for Ha Tinh to achieve its growth target.
Regarding the potential of the service sector in the second half of 2025, according to the forecast of the Provincial Statistics Office, although there are no breakthrough factors, this sector will continue to maintain its growth momentum thanks to the stability of the economy and the sustainable development of commercial infrastructure. In the last months of the year, shopping demand often tends to increase and many trade promotion programs are organized, which will have a positive impact on trade activities. The transportation industry is also forecast to continue to thrive in the second half of 2025, especially in the context of recovering consumption, expanding production and stronger tourism demand.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the target for 2025 is that the total retail sales of goods will reach VND 80,615 billion, an increase of about 15% compared to 2024; export turnover will reach over 2.5 billion USD, an increase of 4.2% compared to 2024. To develop the trade sector and promote economic growth, the unit will continue to focus on key solutions such as: supporting businesses to access more deeply the province's policies on export development, logistics services and digital transformation applications; promoting export activities; strengthening trade promotion activities, supporting businesses to develop the domestic market; developing trade infrastructure, continuing to call for investment in building trade centers, markets, and logistics centers to support the circulation of goods; focusing on administrative reform in the trade sector...
