On the afternoon of June 27, in Hanoi , the Ministry of Science and Technology held a regular press conference for June 2025, chaired by Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong.
At the press conference, functional units of the Ministry of Science and Technology introduced the main contents of 5 important laws under the management of the Ministry of Science and Technology that have just been considered and approved by the National Assembly, including: Law on Science , Technology and Innovation; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Technical Standards and Regulations; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Product and Goods Quality; Law on Atomic Energy (amended) and Law on Digital Technology Industry.
Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong said that these five laws closely follow the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW (dated December 22, 2024) of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation and the directions of General Secretary To Lam on the field of science and technology. Accordingly, these laws will make an important contribution to removing difficulties and bottlenecks in the current management, development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.
With that spirit, in July 2025, the Ministry of Science and Technology will focus on developing and completing draft laws such as: Law amending and supplementing the Law on Technology Transfer; Law on High Technology; Law on National Digital Transformation; Law on Intellectual Property... to submit to competent authorities for consideration and report to the Government to seek opinions from the National Assembly at the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
On June 22, 2025, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued Decision No. 1412/QD-BKHCN approving the "Plan to attract 100 talented domestic and foreign experts to participate in key national science and technology programs and tasks on artificial intelligence (AI)". The plan was issued to mobilize and effectively promote the intelligence of the team of experts, creating a boost for breakthrough development in AI in Vietnam. This is a strategic step, concretizing the goal of building a solid foundation for AI to become a core driving force for economic growth, modernizing the country, improving the quality of life and national competitiveness.
The long-term goal is to create a comprehensive, autonomous and humane AI ecosystem, gradually making Vietnam one of the prestigious centers for AI research, development and application in the region and the world.
At the press conference, the representative of the Ministry of Science and Technology introduced Decision No. 1169/QD-TTg (dated June 16, 2025) of the Prime Minister approving the Program "Promoting communication to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation by 2030".
