Upcoming Workshop "The Role of Science and Technology Information in Socio-Economic Development"

This is the first time a large-scale in-depth workshop on the role of science and technology (S&T) information has been held.

On the afternoon of August 29, at Tran Chi Dao Hall - Ho Chi Minh City National University Administration Building (Linh Xuan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), under the chairmanship of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Information, and Ho Chi Minh City National University, the workshop "The role of Science and Technology Information in the cause of socio-economic development" will take place.

This is the first time that an in-depth workshop on the role of science and technology information on a large scale has been organized. This is even more meaningful when the Politburo issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

The conference, organized by One World Magazine and Ho Chi Minh City National University, is expected to attract about 600 delegates, chaired by representatives of the above agencies.

The workshop also had the participation, speeches and discussions of representatives of universities, research institutes, experts, scientists, researchers, leading enterprises in many fields and students of universities in Ho Chi Minh City.

In particular, the workshop was attended by nearly 100 officers in charge of science, technology and information in communes and wards in Ho Chi Minh City after the implementation of two-level local government.

The main content of the workshop is to raise awareness of the role of science and technology information in the socio-economic development of Vietnam. At the same time, it contributes to policy development and proposes solutions to improve the effectiveness of application and management of science and technology information.

A particularly important content of the workshop is to clarify the role of science and technology information as a driving force for innovation, digital economic development and industrialization and modernization in the direction of Resolution No. 57.

The conference will have many presentations such as: The important role of science and technology information in education and training in particular, and national development in general; Building a science and technology information ecosystem for innovation and digital economic development in Vietnam; Applying artificial intelligence - A breakthrough driving force for Vietnam in the digital age; The role of blockchain and digital assets...

At the same time, there will be 2 discussion sessions including: Strategic technologies of the rising era; Demand and current status of science and technology information for the business community, universities and research institutes.

Through the conference, the organizers hope to promote cooperation, information sharing and innovation in the field of science and technology, promote the connection of international information and data resources: Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, Springer Nature and other international data sources, especially in strategic technology fields such as: AI and data science (AI, Machine Learning, Big Data); semiconductor and microchip technology; advanced biotechnology and biomedicine; green energy and storage technology; digital economy and digital humanities (Digital Humanities) ...

The conference promises to be an event worth waiting for, opening a new chapter for the development of science and technology information in Vietnam in the era of national development.
