On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), the Ninh Binh Provincial Journalists Association organized a "Back to the Source" journey, visiting the National Monument of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School in Thai Nguyen . The trip is not only an opportunity for today's generation of journalists to review the glorious tradition and pride of the noble journalism profession that always accompanies the fate of the nation, but also an opportunity to foster more affection and sense of responsibility for the profession, continuing the flame of enthusiasm and passion from those who laid the foundation for Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.
"Red address" of journalists
The national monument of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School, established from April 4 to July 6, 1949 under the direction of President Ho Chi Minh , the Viet Minh General Department and the Resistance Press Corps, is an important historical milestone of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism. Under the leadership of Director Do Duc Duc; Deputy Director Xuan Thuy; Journalists Nhu Phong, Do Phon, Tu Mo are members of the Board of Directors.
With a team of lecturers who are outstanding political activists, journalists, and famous artists such as Truong Chinh, Vo Nguyen Giap, To Huu, Xuan Dieu, Nguyen Tuan, Nam Cao... This school has become the cradle that trained the first journalists of the country.
President Ho Chi Minh paid special attention to this class. He sent two letters of encouragement and advice: “This class is the first journalism class. I hope you will compete to study and practice to be worthy pioneers on the journalism front. The press must also carry out the slogan: all for victory.”
That advice became a guiding principle for 42 students, who later became key writers, making great contributions to the cause of resistance war and national construction and the development of the country's journalism. The national monument of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was ranked by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2019, affirming the historical value and great significance of this place, as a living testament to the pioneering and indomitable spirit of revolutionary journalism.
Discussing the special significance of this place, Journalist Phan Huu Minh, an officer of the Vietnam Press Museum, shared: Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School is not only a historical place but also a typical example of the deep, thorough and serious way of learning and imparting knowledge of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism. 42 students and 29 lecturers, those first core members, have greatly contributed to the brilliant development of the country's journalism as it is today.
Mr. Minh further emphasized: The national historical monument stele where Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was held has been erected and is the 49th national monument of ATK Thai Nguyen. This not only affirms the great historical value of this place, but also turns it into a sacred “red address” for Vietnamese journalists.
Every time we return here, we are given more strength from the tradition, the strong will and the tireless dedication of our predecessors. It is a valuable lesson about the love of the profession, about the responsibility of writers in all circumstances, no matter how difficult, we must firmly maintain the flame of passion and serve the Fatherland and the People.
Fostering responsibility and lighting up enthusiasm for today's journalists
The "Back to the Source" trip left deep impressions in the hearts of Ninh Binh journalists, especially the respect and gratitude for the first generation of revolutionary journalists.

That has urged the next generation to make more efforts to be worthy of the pioneering spirit of the previous journalists.
In the current context, when technology is developing rapidly and information is multi-dimensional, the requirements for journalists are even higher. Unlike the lack of technology in the early days, modern journalists face challenges from fake news, pressure to provide fast information and fierce competition. “The new era opens up great opportunities but also poses higher requirements and tasks, requiring the press and journalists to develop accordingly, continuing the noble mission of being a bridge between the Party, the State and the People.
Journalism today is strongly influenced by digital technology and artificial intelligence. Journalists need to constantly study, practice, cultivate revolutionary ethics, strive to master technology, and effectively use modern media platforms to spread information quickly, positively, and effectively.
Journalists also need to integrate into life, listen and understand so that each journalistic work is a positive contribution to society, helping to strongly arouse the spirit of patriotism, solidarity, and the will to rise of the nation - journalist Dinh Ngoc shared.
Journalist Thu Huong, Department of Arts, Newspaper and Radio-Television of Ninh Binh also expressed her emotions, especially when visiting the Relic: Journey to the Source left us with many special emotions. We learned about the journalism journey of the previous generation. From there, it helped us to arouse our passion and enthusiasm for the profession, to try to explore, create and innovate to meet current requirements. The trip has added motivation and determination to journalists in conveying the policies of the Party, the State and the voice of the People, promoting the important role of a bridge between the Party's will and the people's hearts.
Comrade Bui Ngoc Quang, Provincial Party Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Ninh Binh Newspaper and Radio-Television Station, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association affirmed: The purpose of the trip is to concretize the policy of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the plan of Ninh Binh province in the series of activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
This is not only a meaningful activity to propagate and educate cadres and members of the Ninh Binh Provincial Journalists Association to have a firm grasp of the tradition and history of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism, but also an opportunity to consolidate and enhance pride in the profession.
In the context that press agencies are implementing the Party's policy on streamlining and streamlining the apparatus, this activity has even more profound significance: "This is also an opportunity to review and re-evaluate the development of press agencies, helping journalists correctly perceive and effectively implement the policy of streamlining and streamlining press agencies, fostering and strengthening the trust, pride, enthusiasm, and sense of responsibility of journalists serving the common mission of the country" - Comrade Bui Ngoc Quang emphasized.

It is the inheritance of the pioneering spirit, responsibility and enthusiasm of the early revolutionary journalists, and at the same time a motivation for today’s generation to continuously learn and practice, worthy of the trust of the Party and the People, leading the Vietnamese revolutionary press to develop steadily in the new era.
