On the afternoon of January 2, in Da Lat City (Lam Dong), a conference was held to deploy a cooperation program on goods quality control (Green Tick of Responsibility) between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of the Central Highlands.
The conference was attended by more than 100 businesses from Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands provinces. At the conference, many businesses said that it is necessary to improve the quality of goods, strengthen inspection and control of product quality... in the market.
Mr. Trinh Tan Vinh, Director of Thuan Trinh Organic Coffee Company Limited ( Lam Dong ) said that the biggest concern when Lam Dong businesses go to promote trade in Ho Chi Minh City is the quality of coffee. Especially the price between quality and non-quality coffee.
“Our company produces organic coffee with strict processes, but it is very difficult to find customers. Meanwhile, low-quality products are circulating a lot in the market. Should there be a solution to communicate to consumers to recognize quality products?” Mr. Vinh shared.
Regarding the Green Tick of Responsibility, Mr. Le Van Vuong, Director of Vuong Thanh Cong Production & Trading Company Limited ( Dak Lak ) said that when participating in the program, what benefits do businesses get? Perhaps there is still an equivalence between genuine businesses that produce clean products and other businesses.
“The government and functional agencies need to improve quality control and inspection. There needs to be a mechanism to classify products for consumers to choose from. Avoid the situation where high-quality and low-quality products are rampant in the supply chains on the market,” Mr. Vuong shared.
Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Huong, Director of Quality Management Division of WinCommerce Company (Ho Chi Minh City) proposed that localities need to plan specialized agricultural production areas and invest in high-tech agriculture. When the source of raw materials is stable and of good quality, products will have a place in the market.
Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Nguyen Phuong said that the situation of unsafe agricultural products and food is always a hot issue. Many cases of food poisoning and many establishments producing unsafe products have been discovered and handled.
“In addition to applying science and technology, participants in the supply chain need a data warehouse to share information, check and control products better,” Mr. Phuong suggested.
The Responsible Green Tick Program was launched by Ho Chi Minh City in March 2024. The program aims to orient safe and sustainable production through market signals based on the principles of voluntariness, transparency and honesty.
The program is a market development opportunity for businesses that comply with their commitment to quality responsibility. To date, the program has had 8 retailers agree to pioneer in leading the supplier role in the system.
At the program, localities, departments, branches, businesses and distributors signed a cooperation agreement on goods quality control between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands provinces.
