Immediately after receiving the information, the Head of the Tan Lap Forest Ranger Station mobilized the Mau village forest protection team and the local forest rangers to divide into two teams to quickly approach the fire and urgently put out the fire. During the fire fighting process, due to the thick layer of ground cover, long-term dry weather combined with strong winds, the fire burned fiercely and spread quickly beyond the fire fighting capacity of the local forest rangers and the forest protection team. At this time, the Head of the Tan Lap Forest Ranger Station reported to the Director of the Tay Yen Tu Conservation Management Board to request more forces to respond. However, the fire continued to spread, with many other fire spots appearing.
Faced with the dangerous situation, the leaders of the Tay Yen Tu Conservation Management Board reported to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Provincial Forest Protection Department and the Tay Yen Tu Commune People's Committee, and requested the Mau Village Management Board, the Son Dong Inter-Commune Forest Protection Department, and enterprises with production and business activities in the special-use forest (Son Dong Thermal Power Company, Brigade 45, Tay Yen Tu Service Joint Stock Company) to coordinate to increase forces, vehicles and mechanical equipment to participate in fire fighting, emergency care and transfer of injured people to a safe area for first aid and treatment.
With high determination, clear-sighted, resolute, timely command, and close coordination between forces, the fire was controlled and completely extinguished after about 1 hour.
