Son La launches general census of rural and agricultural areas in 2025

On July 1, in Binh Thuan commune, the Steering Committee for the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census of Son La province launched the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census.

The launch was attended by 63 delegates including members of the Steering Committee, Standing Support Team, investigation team leader, supervisor, investigator and local people.

The 2025 rural and agricultural census officially launched on July 1, 2025, aiming to comprehensively collect important information on the situation of agriculture, forestry and fishery in the province. The Provincial Census Steering Committee has divided 2,056 survey areas in rural areas and selected 2,293 surveyors to participate. Surveyors will visit 2,233 villages, hamlets, residential groups and urban sub-areas with agricultural, forestry and fishery activities to collect data using electronic questionnaires (CAPI).

The rural and agricultural census is conducted periodically every 10 years, creating a reliable database, helping the authorities of Son La province in particular and the whole country in general, to plan policies for agricultural, farmer and rural development effectively and sustainably.

The Provincial Steering Committee for the General Census of Rural and Agricultural Areas requires investigators and investigation team leaders to promote a sense of responsibility, strictly comply with professional procedures and regulations, maintain a serious, objective, honest and highly responsible attitude in each survey form. Supervisors should promote an independent, objective and close role, ensuring that information checking and comparison are carried out accurately and promptly. At the same time, strengthen coordination with localities in implementing propaganda, collecting information quickly and fully to ensure progress and time set. Son La province strives to complete information collection before March 27, 3 days earlier than the national general plan.
