Students stage play to raise awareness about kidney disease

Stemming from the desire to add a voice to warn young people about their unscientific lifestyle and disregard for their health, a group of students produced a program combining a talk show with artistic performances, in which the highlight was a play.

Called “Safety Protection”, the program was organized by a group of students from the 20.3 course majoring in Communication and Event Organization ( FPT Polytechnic College, Ho Chi Minh City), attracting more than 600 participants.

Not just a graduation project, the biggest goal of the students is to propagate and warn young people about the increase of kidney failure syndrome among young people.

The program is structured into 4 parts like a story of youth. Part 1 is “Youth Melody” which talks about the thoughts and aspirations of youth. Part 2 with the theme “If only” is about regrets due to the consequences of a lifestyle that does not know how to cherish one's health.

Part 3 “The Moment of Awakening” is meant to remind young people. Part 4 “The Levels of Love” is like a meaningful message for you to have a dynamic and positive youth.

The highlight of the program is the play “If only we had not been so subjective” staged by the Bui Phim group. The play truly reflects the consequences of a lifestyle that lacks concerns for health, especially kidney disease - which progresses silently but leaves serious consequences.

Short but haunting lines like: "If only I had listened to my body sooner..." made many viewers feel sad.

The program also includes a conversation with Master-Doctor Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Nephrology specialist (University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City), with the topic "Understanding the kidneys to avoid failure".

The chat with MSc Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy brings useful advice

Doctor Thu Thuy has warned that kidney disease is getting younger due to unhealthy habits such as staying up late, eating salty foods, lack of exercise and not drinking enough water.

“The kidney is a silent organ. When the disease is detected, it is often too late,” Dr. Thu Thuy shared. The talk show received great attention from students through many practical questions, showing initiatives in health care. When understanding more about the body and loving oneself, young people will be more steadfast on the journey to reach their dreams.

In addition, the students also staged many musical performances with meaningful messages, reminding us that everyone deserves to be loved. In addition, it is necessary to care for and look after the body, both physically and mentally.

The program also wants to raise awareness in the community that: caring for the kidneys is loving yourself most completely.
