Galangal is grown in Binh Lieu commune.

By the end of June 2025, Quang Ninh will have 54 growing area codes with a total area of over 1,049.32 hectares (34 growing area codes for export and 20 growing area codes for domestic consumption).

In Binh Lieu, Binh Lieu Trading & Service Joint Stock Company has cooperated with households in Luc Hon and Binh Lieu communes to expand the area of canadian growing areas with codes to over 28 hectares, ensuring clean raw materials for processing. In the coded growing areas, in addition to the proactive compliance with food safety regulations of the production households, every 6 months, the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection coordinates with the locality and representatives of the growing areas to monitor compliance with the process to decide whether to ensure the requirements and be allowed to maintain the growing area code. Strict processes are set out to ensure the quality of products from the input material area is always safe for production and processing, ensuring the requirements for traceability of agricultural products.

Ms. Lai Thi Liu, a cassava grower in Luc Hon commune, said: "People are very aware of the need to comply with food safety regulations from the cultivation stage, using organic fertilizers and pesticides, following instructions and regulations, ensuring clean cassava for processing."

Ducks are raised in cold barns, ensuring a closed farming process.

In the livestock sector, small-scale farming poses many potential risks to the environment and disease. To prevent this risk, many livestock farms have proactively invested in and applied new technologies, closed and biosafety farming processes. A typical example is Mr. Dong Quang Cuong, a long-time duck farmer in Phong Coc ward, with a flock of hundreds of thousands of ducks each year. He has boldly invested in a cold barn system to ensure a closed farming process; water sources are treated and disinfected; animal feed is quality tested and only vaccines and drugs (if any) are used in accordance with the instructions of veterinary agencies.

Mr. Dong Quang Cuong shared: Since his family switched to this model, the farming efficiency has been very high. The living environment is stable, not affected by adverse weather factors, food sources and waste are all controlled, helping the ducks to be healthy, grow and develop well. With each batch of up to 14,000 ducks as it is now, the family only needs one worker to take care of everything from feeding to monitoring and controlling the growth rate of the whole flock as well as preventing epidemics.

Quang Ninh Department of Agriculture is managing 28,124 establishments producing and trading agricultural, forestry and aquatic products. Of which, the total area of VietGAP certified cultivation in the province is 322.35 hectares. Many models of clean vegetable production, clean aquatic products, closed livestock farming, using traceability technology with QR code stamps help consumers identify safe products.

In the first 6 months of 2025, through inspection, examination, supervision, and post-inspection of 9,067 establishments/organizations/individuals, the authorities discovered and administratively sanctioned 706 establishments/organizations/individuals producing, processing, and trading food for violating food safety regulations, with a total fine of over 5 billion VND.

The province has strengthened the direction of functional sectors and localities to strictly implement the work of ensuring food safety and protecting people's health, including strictly controlling food quality right from the initial production stage; promoting the implementation of safe agricultural and aquatic product supply chains, encouraging enterprises to produce according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP, HACCP standards. At the same time, applying digital technology in inspection, supervision, and propaganda to enhance transparency and help consumers easily trace the origin of products. Wholesale markets, supermarkets, and commercial centers in the province have improved the process of receiving and preserving goods to ensure product quality. The province aims to ensure that by 2030, 100% of food consumed in the province is strictly controlled in terms of origin and quality, and 100% of food production facilities are managed according to food safety standards.
