Vu Luan Theater invests in the play "Hero of the Southern Land"

This play will compete at the 2024 Cai Luong Theater Festival in Can Tho City.

The script titled "Hero" (author: Vuong Huyen Co, reformed opera: Ngo Linh, director: Ngo Quoc Khanh) was invested in and staged by Vu Luan theater under the name "Hero of the Southern Land". This play will compete at the 2024 Reformed Opera Festival in Can Tho City.

The play depicts the image of hero Nguyen Trung Truc in the history of fighting against foreign invaders. Meritorious Artist Vu Luan plays the character Nguyen Trung Truc - the hero who led the army to fight against the French and kept his integrity until his death.

Meritorious Artist Vu Luan shared that this is the work he invested in to pay tribute to the contributions of hero Nguyen Trung Truc to the country and to serve the needs of art enjoyment of audiences who love Vietnamese historical plays after attending the festival. "The play contributes to propagating andeducating the young generation about patriotism, national pride, and striving to build the homeland and country to become more and more beautiful" - Meritorious Artist Vu Luan said.

The content of the play closely follows official history, reflecting quite fully and completely the portrait of national hero Nguyen Trung Truc. The play praises his life, career, personality and great contributions to the people of the South and our nation in the struggle against foreign invaders in the 19th century. The play was artistically advised by People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau, who analyzed it in depth so that the roles exuded a spirit of steadfast patriotism.
