Review the situation of unemployed women returning to their hometowns

On January 7, news from the Office of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province said that this agency has just announced the conclusion of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in a dialogue with officials and members of the Women's Union at all levels in the province in 2023. In which, there is a review of the situation of unemployed women returning to their localities to provide appropriate support.

Accordingly, at the dialogue session, there were 16 comments, recommendations and proposals from women delegates, focusing on the following groups of issues: job creation, labor export, economic development support, loan support, poverty reduction and implementation of social security policies.

According to the conclusion announcement, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province requested the Provincial Women's Union to review the number of women in need of labor export, coordinate with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to develop a plan to implement support according to regulations. It is necessary to review cases of female workers from industrial parks outside the province who have lost their jobs and returned to their localities; find out the specific circumstances, means of production, and needs of industries to participate in labor, and provide timely training; it is necessary to clearly identify the capital needs of women to use for what projects, to produce what products to coordinate with functional sectors, and advise competent authorities to consider and resolve.

According to the Project of sending workers from Ca Mau province to work abroad in the period of 2022 - 2025, in the first 10 months of 2023, 392/400 workers went to work abroad under contracts. Most of them were unskilled workers in industries such as: construction, mechanics, agriculture , nursing, food processing, processing...

Also in 2023, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ca Mau reviewed legal documents and approved more than 30 enterprises providing services to send workers to work abroad to coordinate with the Provincial Employment Service Center to provide consulting services on recruiting workers in Ca Mau province to work abroad under contracts.
