Currently, Dam Ha district has more than 13,000 ethnic minorities, accounting for about 31.6% of the district's population. Over the past 5 years, the appearance of rural areas, ethnic minority and mountainous areas as well as the lives of ethnic minorities in the area have been increasingly improved. The district has no poor households according to national criteria. The average income per capita in rural areas by the end of 2023 will reach 74.4 million VND/person/year, an increase of 1.3 times compared to 2020. By the end of 2023, the district will have 8/8 communes meeting the criteria for new rural communes (NTM), 6/8 communes meeting the criteria for advanced NTM communes, and 4/8 communes meeting the criteria for model NTM communes. The district will also meet the advanced NTM standards in 2022.
In the period of 2024-2029, Dam Ha district aims to continue promoting economic, cultural and social development in ethnic minority areas, narrowing the gap between rich and poor among ethnic groups; developing human resources in ethnic minority areas; increasing the quantity and improving the quality of ethnic minority cadres; consolidating the political system at the grassroots level; strengthening the great solidarity bloc of ethnic groups...
By 2029, Dam Ha district strives to achieve a number of targets, such as: Average income per capita in ethnic minority and mountainous areas is at least half of the average income of the province; the rate of people participating in health insurance reaches 100% of the population; "Dam Ha town meets civilized urban standards"; 100% of cadres and notaries in mountainous communes and ethnic minority areas meet the standards...
On this occasion, the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Quang Ninh province and the People's Committee of Dam Ha district awarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing ethnic minority work and policies. The Congress also elected 19 official delegates to attend the Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Quang Ninh province and approved the Resolution of the Congress.
