In the Tourism System Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2045 approved by the Prime Minister, Quang Nam tourism is clearly reflected in a number of contents.

Quang Nam tourism is located in the dynamic tourism development area of Quang Binh - Quang Tri - Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam. This area is planned to promote tourism development in the North Central and Central Coast regions; connecting domestic and international world heritages, linking cultural tourism products with urban tourism and beach resorts.

Hoi An is identified as one of 11 tourist centers associated with urban areas with potential and outstanding advantages to prioritize the development of tourism products and services associated with night-time economic development orientations. Nam Giang international border gate is located in the East-West Tourism Corridor (Central region).

This corridor is formed on the basis of the Lao Bao - Dong Ha - Da Nang economic corridor, connecting with Laos and the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) countries through the Lao Bao International Border Gate; the Nam Giang (Quang Nam) - Da Nang economic corridor connects with Laos through the Nam Giang International Border Gate.

In addition, Cu Lao Cham (Hoi An City) is one of 17 locations in the North Central and Central Coast regions proposed to be included in the list of potential locations for national tourism development.

The general goal of the planning until 2025 is that Vietnam will become an attractive destination with high tourism development capacity in the world. By 2030, tourism will truly become a spearhead economic sector, developing in the direction of green growth; becoming a destination with leading development capacity in the world.

By 2045, tourism will affirm its role as a driving force of the economy, a prominent global destination, and be among the top tourism-developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
