In order to promote cultural diplomacy and promote the image of Vietnam, the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei has coordinated with the International School Brunei (ISB) to organize a cultural exchange to introduce some traditional Vietnamese literary and hand-embroidered art works.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Brunei Tran Anh Vu expressed his wish that ISB students and international friends would love Vietnamese literature and study Vietnamese culture, as well as films successfully adapted from literary works.

The Embassy has donated a number of Vietnamese literature and cultural research books to the ISB library, including famous literary works translated into English such as "Diary of a Cricket" by writer To Hoai, "I see yellow flowers in the green grass" and "Ticket to childhood" by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh.

Within the framework of the program, ISB lecturers and 30 students from grades 7-12 of many nationalities experienced traditional Vietnamese hand embroidery techniques and decorated products with unique patterns of the H'Mong ethnic group under the guidance of Ms. Le Thi Hong Ngoan - Ambassador's wife, Ms. Maisarah Nguyen - founder of Rattan House handicraft enterprise and Ms. Pham Thu Phuong, representative of the Vietnamese community in Brunei.

With the message of promoting traditional handicrafts associated with environmental protection, the materials used at the event are all natural or recycled, including old newspapers, used plastic bottles, dried grass, etc.
