During more than 8 decades of fighting, building and growing, our Army has continuously grown in all aspects. But that strength does not only come from modern weapons and equipment, but also originates deeply from the people, who have given birth to, nurtured and protected our Army from its inception until today.

Our army was born from the people, fought for the people and grew up in the people. The first soldiers of our army did not come out of the barracks, but from thatched roofs, bamboo banks, and wells. They brought with them not only guns and revolutionary ideals, but also their mothers' advice, their love for their homeland, their hatred for the enemy and their desire to live for the nation. They went into battle and fought not for personal glory but for each field, each peaceful sleep of their compatriots. In each marching step, each fierce battle of each soldier, there was always a noble ideal: Fighting for the people, sacrificing for the independence and freedom of the nation.

The strength of our Army is not only the will to “die for the survival of the Fatherland”, but also the strength of the people, of the blood relationship between the army and the people. During the war, officers and soldiers relied on the people, thanks to the people to fight the enemy. In peacetime , they are present on the front lines helping people escape floods, build houses after storms, rescue people from natural disasters, treat patients on remote islands, teach literacy in border areas... There is no boundary between the army and the people. There is no wall separating soldiers from their compatriots. That is not only sentiment, but the source of strength of our Army.

In the process of modernization, our Army has gradually mastered high technology, approached artificial intelligence, cyber warfare and many advanced military fields. But amidst these changes, the military-civilian relationship is still preserved like a treasure. Because the people's hearts are the most solid fortress, the most solid battleground of human hearts.

A modern army that is not close to the people is an army that has lost its roots. A strong army is an army that is protected, nurtured, protected, and loved by the people.

It is no coincidence that the world calls the Vietnam People's Army a special phenomenon - an army that has defeated many invaders many times stronger, but lives in harmony, is united and devoted to the people. That sentiment cannot be trained by textbooks, cannot be issued by orders, but can only be formed in practice, through years of sharing with the people.

Over the past 80 years, generations of cadres and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army have written pages of history with blood, sweat and tears. But above all, they have written the most sacred thing: an iron-clad belief in the Party, in the people, in the revolutionary ideal. They are not only soldiers on the battlefield, but also sincere friends, filial sons in the hearts of the nation. The two words "compatriots" and "comrades" are not just ways of addressing each other, but the source of strength of great national unity. Where the Party's will meets the people's heart, where the Fatherland is forever strong.

On the journey forward, although the world changes, although war has new forms, the greatest truth for the Vietnam People's Army remains unchanged: The strength of our Army is the strength of the people. The highest fighting goal of our Army is for the prosperous, free and happy life of the people.

Our army sacrifices for the Fatherland, for the independence, freedom and happiness of the people. That is the honor, the duty, the ideal of life of Uncle Ho's soldiers.
