In episode six of Sing! Asia 2025 filmed in Hong Kong (broadcast simultaneously with international broadcast on FPT Play on June 27), the station kings (the names of the winning contestants in each episode according to the filming location) were given the right to choose their opponents.
Phuong My Chi chose the song Bong phu hoa - inspired by the story Nguoi con gai Nam Xuong, one of the outstanding legendary stories of Vietnamese medieval literature - to "compete" with Hoang Linh (China).
Hoang Linh is a talented Chinese singer, one of the 7 final winners of the show Sisters Who Make Waves.

Phuong My Chi won overwhelmingly.
Bong phu hoa is a difficult song to sing, from the album Vu dieu co bay , released two years ago, but at Sing! Asia , Phuong My Chi wanted to make it more difficult for herself.
In addition to the Vietnamese version, she also tried her hand at the chorus in Chinese to help the judges and audience better understand the song's message.
DTAP's mix combines contemporary music and traditional culture, both strange and familiar.
Compared to the original, in this version of Bong Phu Hoa , Phuong My Chi and the crew added an opening section "Life's tears reflect in the mirror/ Still love must be expressed/ Story of a girl from Nam Xuong/ Broken love because of a shadow" to create atmosphere for the performance.
With an impressive performance, powerful voice, especially high notes without being out of tune, Phuong My Chi won an overwhelming score of 15-6 against Hoang Linh.
Returning back stage, the singer burst into tears, unable to believe his ears.
On social media, the DTAP brothers called this an "emotional victory". "Participating in two shows at the same time ( Em xinh say hi and Sing! Asia 2025 ), and receiving an additional challenge from us in this song, but she still completed it perfectly", DTAP wrote.
Before that, the group was worried that "if we accidentally play a song with notes that are too high or too difficult, and break a note, we'll have to go home, no joke."

On the evening of June 27, on her personal page, Phuong My Chi shared: "Grateful, proud and overwhelmed, those are my feelings when standing on the Sing! Asia stage".
Chi said that even though she had performed "Bong phu hoa" many times, in this round, she still couldn't help but feel nervous and emotional.
But in the end, she sang with all she had and today's result is a gift for that effort.
"I am truly grateful to still receive love and support from the audience. Grateful for still having the opportunity to continue spreading Vietnamese culture to the world in the next stage of Sing!Asia," the singer said.
Commenting on the song's video on YouTube as well as on other platforms, many viewers said "listening to it makes me tear up with emotion", "proud of Chi";
"You bring Vietnamese culture, identity, and spirit to the world so well"... Some audiences even gave compliments, calling Phuong My Chi a "national treasure".
Phuong Nhu Tran expressed: "Her music is very special, not only good but also full of pride."
According to the rules of the game, five kings compete against five gatekeepers. The four people with the highest votes out of the five winners go straight to the semi-finals.
The remaining person has to compete in the quarterfinals twice in episode 7. It is not yet clear whether Phuong My Chi will enter the semi-finals or not.
