Progress in professional journalism
The class is part of a cooperation agreement between Tuoi Tre newspaper and Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology. In the last class, journalist Nguyen Thanh Liem, editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre newspaper - the lecturer directly in charge of the class, assigned students an assignment in the form of making a news bulletin similar to those on current affairs programs. Students searched for available information sources to synthesize content, write commentary, host the program themselves and arrange complete images and sounds for the bulletin.

In class, students are given specific comments on content, images, narration and sound quality, thereby helping students edit and perfect their products. Through this form of learning, students have the opportunity to practice synthesis, editing and hosting skills. These are important factors for students to accumulate practical experience for their future studies and work.
Journalist Nguyen Thanh Liem commented that compared to the first days, the students have changed significantly. This is specifically shown through the products in the last class.
According to him, students grasp knowledge and skills quickly. In particular, in this course, students also learn about film editing techniques, a factor that helps improve product quality and increase practicality during practice.
"Each class has about 10 products. Overall, the products are well edited, demonstrating the students' remarkable efforts and progress," he commented.
Not only do they progress professionally, students also demonstrate a serious and eager-to-learn attitude in their studies.
"The students behave properly in public places and are highly appreciated by teachers and staff for their attitude and learning spirit. In particular, the students are very excited to approach and apply artificial intelligence in learning and practicing journalism, especially in the field of international relations," journalist Nguyen Thanh Liem shared.
Changes in thinking and skills after experience
Bich Ngan - a final year student of international relations and communications - shared that after studying here, the first thing she realized was how the journalism environment works. This was also something very new to Ngan, because before that she did not think that to create a complete journalism product, she had to go through so many processes.
"The teachers are journalists with real-life experiences, so sharing makes us feel less bored and not constrained by a theoretical framework," Ngan said.

Similarly, Tuyet Nhi - a final year student of international relations and communications - said that the first time she entered the newsroom and visited the classroom, she was surprised by the facilities here. Not too restrictive and rigid like the office environment, the learning space gives her a comfortable, close feeling and is very suitable for the creative nature of journalism.
Nhi shares that here you can learn more deeply and thoroughly. She learned how to write and edit news, no longer writing long articles like before because when writing news articles, it is necessary to be concise and brief but still convey full information to readers.
"In addition, I learned how to always maintain objectivity in an article, especially with sensitive issues such as politics , a field directly related to my current field of study.
If I had to give a score of 5, I would give it 5 points because the teachers are very enthusiastic and share their own practical experiences after many years of working as a journalist," Nhi said.

Minh Thu - a final year student of the Faculty of International Relations and Communications - said that what impressed her most was the speed of news updates at Tuoi Tre newspaper. After a month of studying here, Thu learned important skills in journalism such as the ability to search for and process information effectively.
In addition to practicing writing skills, Thu was also instructed on how to use artificial intelligence (AI) in the modern journalism process. In addition, teachers also enthusiastically instructed on how to use video editing software such as Adobe Premiere, CapCut...
"The teachers are very dedicated and always make us feel comfortable. Because the curriculum focuses on practice rather than theory, my skills such as writing, editing, video editing, and news searching have also improved significantly," Thu shared.
