Ha Tinh women enthusiastically participate in the 2023 startup competition

After 6 months of launching, the contest " Ha Tinh Women Start-up - Promoting Local Resources in 2023", organized by the Provincial Women's Union, has received positive responses from women across the province.

Ms. Le Nguyen Khanh Diep's idea of producing Moc Dong concentrated natural shampoo is one of 14 excellent ideas that reached the final round of the contest "Ha Tinh Women Start-up - Promoting Local Resources" in 2022.

These days, contestants with ideas that have made it to the final round of the contest "Ha Tinh Women Start-up - Promoting Local Resources in 2023" are actively preparing to enter the final round.

Ms. Le Nguyen Khanh Diep (born in 1996, Cam Ha commune, Cam Xuyen) shared: "Having followed the contest "Women's Startup Ideas 2022", I feel that this contest is an extremely meaningful playground for women with dreams and aspirations to start production and business. Therefore, this year, right after the Women's Union at all levels launched, I planned to participate. In particular, with the theme "Ha Tinh Women Start a Business - Promoting Local Resources", I feel that my idea is very suitable, which is to produce herbal shampoo products, made from available ingredients in my hometown".

Ms. Diep graduated with a master's degree in Psychology from the Academy ofEducational Management (Hanoi) in 2020 and worked briefly in the capital. When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, she returned to her hometown. Realizing the potential of herbal ingredients available in her hometown as well as the increasing demand for products of natural origin in the market, she was determined to learn, research and produce herbal shampoo products.

Promoting indigenous resources in production is the main theme of this year's competition.

After many failures, Ms. Diep has now successfully produced Moc Dong herbal shampoo, which is concentrated from ingredients such as soapberry, lemon, soapberry, lemongrass... Along with bringing products to the market, Ms. Diep has also built a raw material area to create a source for long-term production. With a farm of 37,000 ^m2 , up to now, she has planted 800 soapberry trees, along with hundreds of orange, lemon, grapefruit, guava trees and fields of lemongrass, five-color flowers... At the same time, she has cooperated with local people to expand the raw material production area.

During the process of participating in the contest "Ha Tinh Women Start-up - Promoting Local Resources in 2023", the startup idea from Moc Dong natural concentrated shampoo product was highly appreciated and entered the final round. Along with training courses on project development from the Provincial Women's Union throughout the contest, Ms. Diep is currently eagerly preparing a slide presentation in the final round.

Members of the Van Cuu Organic Rice Production Cooperative (Khanh Vinh Yen, Can Loc) are excited after the summer-autumn crop achieved high results.

Along with individual startup ideas, this year’s competition also received many startup ideas and projects from cooperatives and cooperatives owned by women. Among them, the organic rice production idea of the women’s cooperative members of Van Cuu village (Khanh Vinh Yen commune, Can Loc district) is considered to have great potential.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hieu - President of Khanh Vinh Yen Women's Union and a member of the Cooperative said: "With the desire to exploit the local advantages in agricultural production - mainly rice, our idea is to bring quality organic rice products, ensuring safety for people, while increasing income for people per unit area".

The organic rice production model of the Van Cuu Women's Cooperative, consisting of 40 members, in coordination with the Que Lam Group, strictly applies a completely biological production process, implemented since June 2023. With a cultivated area of 2 hectares, the first summer-autumn rice crop yielded 10 tons of rice, approximately equal to the conventional production method.

It is estimated that 10 tons of fresh rice will yield 4.55 tons of rice, with an expected selling price of 30,000 VND/kg of rice, it will generate an income of more than 136 million VND, 3 times higher than the traditional rice production method. At this time, after harvesting, the rice is still in the drying stage, but the expected amount of organic rice of THT has been almost fully ordered by customers.

Members of the Van Cuu organic rice production cooperative discussed with officials of the Can Loc district Women's Union about the presentation of ideas at the final round of the contest "Ha Tinh women start a business - Promoting local resources".

The Ha Tinh Women's Startup Competition - Promoting Local Resources was launched in March 2023, aiming to find ideas and projects for start-up production and business led by women, with prospects, bringing economic efficiency, contributing to the preservation, development and enhancement of local resources (available resources, typical of localities). From there, support and investment are provided to realize production, improve quality and brand products to the market.

Participants are members and women who have ideas, projects, models, products, and businesses in the province. For groups that have started production and business for no more than 5 years, calculated from the time of registration for the contest.

After 6 months of launching, through the district-level preliminary round, the Provincial Women's Union received 75 ideas. After the judging process, the organizing committee selected 14 potential ideas to enter the final round. During the competition, in each round, the Provincial Women's Union also organized many training programs to improve knowledge and skills for women in building, perfecting and presenting ideas.

The final and award ceremony of the competition is expected to take place in early October 2023.

Following the success of the “Women’s Startup Ideas 2022” contest, this year’s contest has received enthusiastic responses from women’s associations at all levels across the province. In addition to the increase in quantity, the quality of ideas, projects, and models has been improved, diversified in fields, highly feasible and presented more and more professionally.
In particular, many ideas have closely followed the theme "Ha Tinh Women Start-Up - Promoting Local Resources" to build production and business models based on the advantages of available resources, or the potential of local characteristics. This is one of the important criteria set out by the contest."
